According to Spector TBL wants a young D in return for Drouin...I repeat:
Pouliot + Kunitz/Perron for Drouin + Garrison?
Perron especially makes sense since he is in his last year and hence will free up space for TBL to resign Stamkos.

Garrisson is a capable defender with an reasonable cap, the term is a bit long though. But Drouin>Pouliot and Garrison>Kunitz/Perron, so no thanks |

I don't think TBL will get a better offer than this. Maybe PIT adds a 3rd rnd pick or something, but this satisfies all their criteria. I like Garrison, but TBL D doesn't need him and he is getting on in age. That 4.6mil cap hit for the next 3 years can be much better utilized elsewhere (like signing Stamkos/etc). |

I rather take Vatanen for Drouin straight up, which is possible. |

Wouldn't mind him with the Wings, given the large amount of young Forwards we have to deal for him...give them Nyquist, Mantha, a couple 1st round picks...done and done. I'd love to see a Zetterberg/Larkin/Stamkos line |

most trades involve one team getting the 2 best players and the other getting the 2 worst. |

Pretty sure nobody thinks that Pouliot is a particularly valuable prospect anymore. Kunitz and Perron are both dirty diapers that sprouted legs and miraculously learned how to skate. |

Stamkos would never come here.. Nor do we want his soon to be contract. |

this is idiotic! here we go again... teams signing players to HUGE contracts, I wonder when we can schedule the next lockout.... no player is worth more than 10% of their teams salary cap. this is so stupid... its amazing though because it seems like EVERY team is doing this. Kopi is an amazing player, but $80M?? |

LOL I love how some of these people are only looking at points. It shows they don't really know hockey very much.
Kopi brings A LOT MORE than just points. He is a huge dominant center with amazing puck possession, can score and pass, but his 2 way hockey is among the best if not the best. Usually a Selke candidate and will win it very soon if not this year. Has 2 Cups where he was up for the Con Smythe in both Cup runs too. Having a major focus on D as a #1 center and still puts up the points he does is pretty amazing.
Please learn more about hockey if you think points is all that matters for pay days. |
