Ennis spent the first like 20 games on the same line as ROR as well...
We started the year with lines of...
Moulson - ROR - Ennis
Kane - Eichel - Reinhart/Gionta/Girgensons
If I remember right. - JVince11
What to do when we're healthy
Kane-ROR-Ennis
McGinn-Eichel-Reinhart
Girgensons-Larsson-Gionta
Foligno-Legwand-Deslauriers
And bench Mamo. Ennis is a possession black hole. You put an offensive guy like him with ROR and Kane, he's bound to produce. Line up McGinn or Girgenons with ROR and Kane in the dzone. |

is there still chatter of ennis to philly? If so I am just wondering what he brings that Gagner can't do. Have they tried Gagner at wing? I know they just sent him down, but they produce at about the same rate - JCSabs06
Sam Gagner does not make this team better. When Ennis is back to playing his game, he's much more useful. |

I meant for philly... Why would philly give up assets for a player they basically have already (who can't even stay up in the NHL) |

Ennis on the first??
If anything I would try this
Kane ROR McGinn
Reinhart Eichel Girgensons
Moulson Larsson Ennis
Foligno Legwand Deslauriers/Gionta
Moulson Larsson and Ennis had success last season
Ennis has done nothing to validate playing on the 1st line
I do agree Moulson has been worse but I would rather him have a chance to play over Gionta haha |

Gagner and Ennis are not similar at all.
Ennis and Gagner might have somewhat comparable offensive games but Ennis is actually a really good pest to have on the forecheck and his speed is very good at creating turnovers. He might not be checking people to the ice but has a valuable defensive side to his game that Gagner does not. |

Wasn't it Moulson - Girgensons - Ennis on our top line last year that had pretty good success not Larsson???

I think he has. He has more 20 goal seasons than Kane and O'Reilly on incredibly bad teams.
He had been bad, but it's a small sample size on this current team |

When Girgensons was injured for the last 12 plus games I am pretty sure it was Moulson Larsson Ennis |

Correct but like I have been saying he is the best player on a bad team and can't play with any sort of talent.
This isn't pond hockey and he is clearly trying to do too much |

I wouldn't say that yet. I agree he was trying to do way too much, but I think it's because a ton of people pegged him as a breakout player.
If anything, play him in the top 6 to hopefully increase some trade value |

Ennis has only played 23 games this year. And with how Bylsma has juggled the lines, it's a pretty safe bet that he wasn't on the same line as ROR for that many games to start the season. |

I'm not throwing Ennis under a bus here... I think he is great talent to have on this team but he needs to remaster his skills in a new system with actual talented players around him for the first time in his career.
Don't kick him to curb. Give him time when he is not injured.
I think Reinhart at 1RW and Ennis at 2RW is more than a plausable top 6. Its not a top 5 in the NHL right now or anything but it could be very dangerous.
I think we need to add another top 6 LW to this team to have Kane be 1 or 2 doesn't matter. We just need another legit scoring threat there and its not Girgensons, Moulson, or Gionta. Or McGinn if we are looking long term.
Could it be Fasching, Bailey, or Baptiste.... maybe.. I think Fasching has the best chances of the group. |

I said it about 3 years ago that Ennis was turning more into Max than he was Briere. He changed my mind for a bit but the Max part of his game is sticking out more and more to me.
I do not see Tyler Ennis on a playoff team in Buffalo if he is playing in the top 6 |

Not sure i understand your reasoning here as Max helped take this team to the ECF what 2 times? |

Yeah but wasn't he on the RAV line which, at least in 05-06 was our 3rd line? |

he lead the team to the playoffs and then you discount his playoff production...
good f'n grief... just admit it that your statement is dumb to say that he is Max and that's a bad thing. |

No its pretty much when the game gets smaller and more physical he disappeared...
Just because he lead the team in points doesn't mean lead the team to anything. Briere and Drury lead that team to the playoffs. Max fed off of the league calling penalties and playing a 3rd line scoring role when teams couldn't keep up.
Once the league turned into what we see today Max found himself well in Russia. As proof of him going from almost a ppg player to a .5 point per game player just 2 years later |
