I'm enjoying a vintage bottle from the vineyards of Proctor & Gamble. Their reds aren't so hot but they make a wicked green. |

I know we are losing but I still see a lot of positives . Bo is a beauty . He is a future Hank.
We have 2-3 key players out and Miller kinda sucked on the second one. I think soon this team will be competitive - VANTEL

Are last four drafts have been three wingers and two centers in the first round... it's time. The last time I remember the nucks using veen a second on a dman is Yann Sauve - neem55
We picked up two last year , Tryamkin the year before.
The thing is you need to score to win. You can find plugs on the back end to fill holes and keep it close. If you can't score you can't win.
Boeser Shink are coming but we still don't have a certified scorer after the twins. Fix that first then fix the back end. You can use every pick after the first pick to take D, but get your goal scorer first. |

I'd be stoke with either of those D. Although if we drafted 1st overall i'd go for Matthews.

The Washington Model would suggest that you are correct.
Remember how they started this latest rebuild by spending big bucks on Niskanen and Orpik? Got rid of Mike Green, brought Carlson along...
They've had some injuries along the way, but that's a major overhaul in just a couple of seasons for a team that was pretty good. - Carol Schram
I think Alzner and Carlson as first round picks is a bigger factor. Although Niskanen has delivered more than I expected
Canucks have drafted 3 D in the first 2 rounds in the past 11 drafts and only 7 if you include the 3rd round in the past 13 drafts.
Caps drafted 10 D in the first 2 rounds in the past 11 drafts for comparison. |

Also JM. I'm not too worried about our C depth moving forward for now, we need a couple of top D prospects though.
This team has yet to bottom out, we'll get a few more chances at this. |

I understand your take. IMO you build from the back end out and we have no good d prospects (sorry Subban fans). |

I agree with Vantel....to a point. If we draft top 5 we should grab one of the top end forwards. 6-10. Grab juolevi or chycrun. Best case scenario we pick another 1st or two up....maybe grab both d or a top five forward and juolevi/ chycrun. Have to fanagle and move up. Pie in the sky scenario for me |

Kuznetzov and Alzner are both draftpicks on bridge contracts, as in the team has negotiating rights and leverage.
I do think that both Dorsett and Prust are plugs however and hopefully they are gone soon. - neem55
Sbisa should of been on a bridge as well, Alzner "S 3rd contract and Kuznetzov's 2nd. |

Unless there's a #1 C available then you grab a top D. |

Chychrun is #3 in both of the latest NHL.com mockdrafts. Surprised more aren't on board to be honest. I would be pretty happy with laine or Puljaarvi, but am hoping for D in both of the first two rounds. |

We need to be picking multiple D in the first 3 rounds every year. I think it is hard to pic D in the top 10 and as much as I like Shink, Gaunce, McCann, Jensen (at the time), that's when you can still find really good D. |

The point of a bridge is that the player is a RFA, Sbisa was set to hit UFA status for his first time cause (believe it or not) he's played in the NHl since he was 18. |

Yes, good point. The Caps always draft well so I tend to take that for granted but you're right in terms of the sheer volume of quality defencemen that they're bringing along.
Add in Trotz and the emerging Holtby and Washington's a much more formidable all-round team than they were a couple of years ago.

McCann was a great pick IMO. I've always been a fan of that selection. I'm still concerned about the #6 pick that year, but we've been over that a few times.
I don't disagree with you at all. I figure wingers are the easiest ingredient to find.
I still wouldn't mind another goalie in the 2nd or 3rd round if one merited the pick at the time over the next few years. |
