Not bad 8 years in office 3 players on the club
Benning has 2 from his first draft playing. Again the reason Benning has to use 2 seconds was to fill holes left by Gillis - VANTEL
Haha yeah, I'm a big Bo fan but I'm definitely not defending Gillis' trades and drafting. I'm not big on Gaunce, I like Shink. The trades... well we all know what happened there. Benning has done well I think. Vrbata/Sbisa and Miller were good signings, especially if we can get a good pick for Vrbata here. He's drafted pretty well, not sure about Brisbois, he seems a long-term prospect but I really don't know. |

Dorsett and Torres are nothing alike - VANTEL
I think torres is better player in many ways, dorsett makes up for that with being much much smarter.
both play with an edge, hit, fight, can score but not large numbers
but lets hear it, make your case in what you mean ...usually you do |

Alternative to what? You were saying what great toughness they bring. I don't think they bring all that much. Prust has been a waste of a roster spot. Dorsett ...I like his game. Hits hustles...but he ain't scaring anyone in a fight. |

We did the moves we thought were correct. Very seldom does trading a first round player ever work out. That is your future.
You are trading your future for players that other teams are willing to part with.

I think Pedun would be a nice start, not an alternative but he's a punisher. Sbisa back will help too. |

I agree with Belcher, at the time we were contenders and I thought derek Roy or whatevr rental was a descent idea at the time. |

lucic is 1 way yes. Not sure its the right player....but thats debatable. I'd prefer big Joe, but theres prob no way thatd happen. Burns is a great choice...prob the best choice. Without all the dumbness lucic and scott bring.

Torres plays on the edge. Head hunts is a bit crazy, sometimes out to hurt or injure.
Dorsett is a straight forward in your face, team first , hard worker. He doesn't hit as hard, he is not a cheap shot artist. He is a lunch bucket player. Torres is Cooke and Averys love child |

I never liked the move for him. I was OK with making a move, but he was just another underwhelming diminutive C that we threw away futures for. |

I said I understood the moves back then but they were the wrong moves |

Now that he's in the AHL can John Scott get voted into the all star game there as well? |

bullfrog please read more carefully. You seem to greatly embellish things people say.
I DID NOT say they were super tough, I said we are tougher with them than without... we cant just dump them both leaving us weaker as the poster suggested.
How....how.... HOW did you get such great toughness from that? |

Ill def agree with that. Which is why I said a lesser version of torres but smarter which makes up for those areas hes not as good in
essentially if torres was much smarter in what he did, was smaller than he is hed be dorsett |

You want Brent Burns (9 fights) to replace Dorsetts (122 fights) toughness? |

My friend , not even in the same ballpark. I think I know what you are getting at. Dorsett is a decent 4 th liner. Torres is a high risk high reward scumbag. The closest player to Torres is Cooke Averey. |

I think we are looking at different aspects. But I see your point too. Sounds like youd rather have dorsett? Def safer bet Id say
torres was very entertaining when he was here. Never knew what he'd do.
That scowl hed have on the bench....but I had heard he hated AV. I recall him ripping into someone on the coaching staff during a game. think it was bowness |
