What we really need is for the NHL Division of Player Safety to actually give out significant penalties for players making stupid plays. Any shot to the head should be automatic MINIMUM 10 game suspension, and if he's a repeat offender, the penalty goes up exponentially. 3 suspensions and you're banned for life. Do that and make the refs call the poop that happens in scrums after the whistle and you won't need to have players who can/do fight, they won't need to.

You're probably right, must be my saviour complex...

I don't hire a player because he can beat the sh!t out of every player in the league and sit on the bench I hire a guy who give my team toughness and can jump over the boards use his toughness and can still contribute on the score sheet. The league is evolving. I personally don't believe that you deserve to play in the league just because you're a Sasquatch and can skate a little.

This is true. I haven't been overly impressed with Prust or Dorsett's ability to do any of these things though, frankly. SMB is right that we are grtiier with them in the lineup, but I think Lucic and Buff as well as Pedan/Sbisa will go a long way. I'm hoping we sack Prust or t4rade him at the deadline. Dorsett is alright lunchpail 4th liner, seeing him with Sedin's tonight was a joke though.

He's 6'5 240, that's prettty lean for a sumo. He ragdoll's and drops guys in a way that literally no other player in the league can. Last, but not least, he's a playoff stud.

Lots, admittedly. But I think he's worth it and we've got Tanev or Edler who are a bit better defensively to pair him with. I'm guess he gets 7-8 mil range and proabably wants long-term.
