Even Botchford had in his Provies a comment suspecting Willie wasnt going to be long for his job. I think it serves well anyways with the glowing reviews Green has had in Utica for his work. Only catch is having FA pay 3 coaches and their staff at one time... |

Dorsett with the twins was a head scratcher I'll give you that...unless the twins requested they try him there? |

"As Rhys suggested, given this type of perspective, Miller has been far better than he’s been given credit for this year, and Markstrom has legitimately saved the season.
I thought Miller was really good tonight and the right choice, given I’d take him over Markstrom against a team that’s going to pile up odd-man rushes like the Caps did.
But giving up chances at this rate should give the coaching staff pause.
At some point, some of this has to be on the systems.
Or not.
Either way, if this continues, I really don’t think the coach is going to be long for this job."
Botchford's final words in the Provies. |

I don't think WD should be fired, but I do think some of his deployment decisions are questionable.
Playing Miller last night wasn't one though. |

No Miller played well….Botchford actually went on just previous to the piece I copied and pasted about how bad the Canucks defence has been since the 09/10 season. |

I think the message on that was not that Miller starting was a problem, but that both goalies have played better than the credit they are receiving and probably covering up a lot of mistakes WD has made so far. I dont think he should be fired either, but the leash gets a little tighter if you dont learn from your errors |

Since Hansen has been injured, I've noticed that on most shifts whoever is playing RW with the twins usually heads off early and Vrbata comes on while the Sedins stay out a bit longer. I wonder/speculate if thats the Twins looking to capitalize with him on the ice or the players deciding themselves how to get some goals. It has been commented on in the intermissions how quickly the 3 of them produce with limited time together... |

I think WD's stubbornness in refusing to play Vrbata again with the twins is an error. While they were shut down in the playoffs last year, they also played some very good hockey as well.
Dorsett continues to be his go to player in all situations which IMO is stupid. The Canucks don't have a lot of offensive weapons but they certianly have better options when down a goal, have an extra attacker, need a player for the Sedin's etc. |

Thats why I wonder if the players are taking it upon themselves. The number of times (I think) I have seen JV, Burrows, Doresett take a 30 second or less shift, then Vrbata jumps over the boards and play the next 30-45 seconds with the Twins seems less by accident the more it happens. But then again, I could be seeing things I want to see |

$29.34 West Texas Intermediate - which means Canadian oil is going for in the range of $23 dollars, it's called Western Canadian Select, it's sold at a discount because Canadian Oil & Gas companies can't get it to world markets.

I was expecting to see other players have a few shifts with the Sedins.
Still wonder though, how much input upper management has in line combinations or roles for certain players?
We heard it in the end of year talks from JB and TL, the type of player they see playing with the Sedins, someone to play a simple, physical game, go into the corners to retrieve pucks, then get it to the Sedins and that player goes to the front of the net and gets back to cover the defensive zone when we lose possession.
I'd prefer Vrbata over Dorsett. Burrows hasn't been finishing but is still likely a better option over Dorsett. I guess WD doesn't want to put Prust, Etem, or JV there.
Cracknell might have been a better option than Dorsett on their wing. |
