They're solid defensemen but they're not the defenseman that you should be getting with top five pick. do you agree? drafting in the second round you get those players
it's not worth it when you could draft the same exact player in the second round or even greater - gerbe75pts
Sometimes. Defensemen are so hit and miss that I think you should draft the highest ranked defender every time. I would much rather have Ekblad than Draisaitl for example. And I am a HUGE Draisaitl fan. |

Not Exactly there's usually just one or two players that are special every three years or so for defenseman or even rare in top 5
If you look at the past drafts you can get All Star defenseman in the late rounds and second round picks that's a better way of drafting - gerbe75pts
How many years did a later round D have a more productive career than the 1st rounder. |

Yeah they're hit or miss that's why I hate drafting defense they take way too long to hit their status I would rather trade for one that's about to hit there potential. |

Imagine having 4 scoring lines made of 1st and 2nd picks
I think the Oil tried that . |

PK was a second . Now when a team drafts high they have done their homework . You have never seen this kid play . He has the bloodlines . How do you he is not going to be good pick high in the draft. I have seen him 3 times so far and does not disappoint. Going January 24th to see him in London.

So just because I like Star Wars. Got it
I don't know how anybody can not like that movie it was a masterpiece..
I grew up watching the prequels so I finally got the taste of the real thing - gerbe75pts
That's pushing it, yes, it was very entertaining, but it's not even the best movie of 2015. Hell, Entourage had a more cohesive/complete plot. |

Dunno about masterpiece but it was certainly a return to form. I think expectations/ childhood context / it's cool to tag on stuff influences people's views a lot. - nfph
Yeah, a lot of people were female doging that it was "riding the coattails" of the originals. I fail to see the problem with that. It's better than trying to emulate the prequels.

Just saw Ex Machina last night on Amazon. In a word, bizarre. In more than one, it was very good, a total mind(frank), and somewhat thought provoking. |

Risto held back on Chara because of how old Chara is.
He is so old, he is grandfathered into the no visor waive. - rmiethaner
I'm pretty sure Getzlaf is too though. I may be wrong, but I swear he doesn't wear one.
Edit: Just checked, he definitely doesn't and he's only 30. Now if you said he was so old he was grandfathered into not having to wear a helmet at all that would've been funny. |

Nothing wrong following quality w more quality, but the only thing that makes people think this chapter is any good is that it is related to other chapters.
This chapter isn't good on its own merits. |

I think you are right.
Looked up the rule and did not realize it was only three seasons ago. Thought it was longer.
Which means a lot more players chose to wear one. |

Yeah, Getzlaf doesn't wear one. I know the NHL "gently" asked teams to ask their players to wear a visor. Some teams actually installed visors on everyones helmets before training camp(I believe the Oilers started it), and if a player didn't want it they had to take it off themselves. Appeared to work.
Edit: I believe they had to in junior for a few years before that, so guys were just used to it. Obviously college players have been wearing full shields for some time. |

No chance i would draft a dman if we have a shot at any of the wingers. Matthews is going to go first overall.
I cant even recall how many times i remember ekblad being referred to as a freak of nature, unless this chychrun is projected to be NHL ready gerbe is right. He will fall to the first team who needs a dman after the top forwards have been selected.
Who knows it might still be the sabres anyways |

So the only reason it's any good , is because of it being part of a franchise. Which because of the other episodes and the scale of entertainment of them. This one has t be good.
But if it was the start of said franchise.. It would possibly make it or not.

I remember helmetless hockey. It sucked when they switched. Was easier to tell who the player was while watching on a 12" B&W zenith. |

Guess the good thing about the (likely) loss is that Pysyk will finally get to play so this superstition about keeping the same roster players going while winning will end. |
