Lehner looked sturdy but we couldn't sustain any pressure after the 3 penalties in the 2nd period.

PK was a second . Now when a team drafts high they have done their homework . You have never seen this kid play . He has the bloodlines . How do you he is not going to be good pick high in the draft. I have seen him 3 times so far and does not disappoint. Going January 24th to see him in London.

Of course the teams do their homework but that doesn't matter something could happen to the draft pick he can take longer to develop I would rather take a risk on a winger ,center than a defenseman

I didn't watch the game too closely, did he play well?

The 2nd goal looked like it jumped last second, but I couldn't quite tell if it was deflected for sure or not. The 3rd was just something fluky.

He seemed on top of his game, making the nice glove saves, playing the puck with confidence. None of the 3 goals he let in were "bad" goals.

Best Answer: Last NHL player to play without a helmet:
Craig MacTavish, St. Louis 1996-1997

First NHL player to play with a helmet:
George Owen, Boston 1929
wore his leather football helmet

First NHL team to all play with helmets:
Boston Bruins, 4 January 1934
After seeing their defenseman, Eddie Shore fracture Ace Bailey's skull in a simple bodycheck gone wrong. They wore their leather helmets for the first time in a game where they were defeated by the Ottawa Senatore 9-2.

First goalie to wear a mask:
Clint Benedict, Montreal Maroons, January 1930
wore a leather mask for several games after a broken cheekbone but stopped wearing one due to obstructed vision on low shots.

First NHL goalie to play with a helmet regularly:
Jacques Plante, Montreal, 1959-1960
Made his own fibreglass mask

Last NHL goalie to play without a helmet:
Andy Brown, Pittsburgh, 7 April 1974

First NHL goalie to decorate his mask:
Gerry Cheevers, Boston, 1967-1968
Cheevers painted his mask with black stitch marks as a joke after Fred Stanfield scratched his mask in practice.

I know the game was totally different then and there were virtually no high shots, because they'd just do the same to your goalie, but that is insane.

Lehner was one of the only positives tonight. The whole team looked flat for most of the game. Girgensons injured, didn't come back. Kane took a slash to the leg limped off the ice towards the end of the game but stayed on the bench.

No bad goals by Laynore. I'm happy with his performance. Defense continues to hurt us.. Granted, offense didn't produce. Looked good except for the score sheet.. Where it matters. Oh well. Moving forward. Looking forward to Lehner succeeding.

Just saw Ex Machina last night on Amazon. In a word, bizarre. In more than one, it was very good, a total mind(frank), and somewhat thought provoking.

that game sucked. Why do we have no net front presence until 3 minutes left of the game when we're losing?
