I do remember that.
Maybe I missed the point. I thought it was about a team that finished in last place overall for two straight years, not just once, and then made the playoffs the next.
I can't find that anywhere. - rmiethaner
The discussion we are talking about is a zero to hero no one his gone from that and I said that's incorrect |

The Flyers had 107 points, made playoffs, in 02-03, 101 points and made the playoffs, in both 03-04 and 06-07(no season in 04-05) in the years before they had 56 (06-07), so again, not the same thing. And they went to the cup in 09-10, not the next year like you made it sound in your post. We can sit here and argue semantics all night long about what zero to hero means, but what the Sabres did was unprecedented.
The Sabres had 96 in 10-11, made playoffs, 89, didn't, in 11-12, 48 (which is about 82 for a full year), didn't, in 48 games in 12-13, 52 in 13-14, and 54 last year. So it was a steady fall for the Sabres and the Flyers dropped off the table for one year, and then resumed being good. |

Two things after reading a bunch of these:
1. How many buyouts do we have left, if any? I thought each team had a set amount and we already used ones over the year on Kennedy, that dman, hodgins and lehno. Is it possible we have no e left for Moulsen?
2. Cap prob wont drop as the players always have a right to use some of their equity, or something like that, to raise it a couple of mill. |

There is no limit for regular buyouts. Compliance buyouts on the other hand(the ones with no cap hit) are 2 per team but we already used them on ehrhoff and leino (and they only applied to the 2 years post lockout).
They can still buyout Moulson but the cap relief will be negligible and will last for quite some time.
Im not sure what you're getting at with your 2nd point though. |

Their pull in free agency helped them a lot. |

And that play by Pysyk is why he should never be out of the line up. He has the intangibles that none of our other dman have, other than Risto |

That's incorrect . but I'm happy how things are going - gerbe75pts
Not in a total teardown rebuild . When a team has an off year than returns to form.

TM might pull of something crazy I'm just enjoying this ride
Me,sabres, you knew we be in the top 5 or w/e lots of people
Went nuts talking playoffs in the summer - gerbe75pts
Tim Murray basically said he is not trading long term assets at this point . Now you trade pending UFA's and continue the build through Free agency and the draft.

The more I watch Shaller and Varone play the more I want one of them taking Foligno's roster spot. |

I could see that going against Foligno too. I thought he was a hair early with his stick. |

Nothing against risto, but I think it might be time to let Eichel handle the rush up the ice. The powerplay could be top 5 if it had a yandle back there. |

Rangers fans on this site hate Yandle. They would only want him back at a cheap price. |

Not sure why, I think he's pretty good. I think it's kind of nuts that they have him on the 2nd pp unit though. |
