That and they gave up on Kassian for such a small reason. - Beatle_john
It's disgraceful that they gave up on him after only one drunken crash. |

I haven't ventured into the Mtl blogosphere, but i wonder if the fans are becoming worried about their once infallible leader Bergevin?
That's a few poor trades in a row
Kassian for Prust
Tinordi for Scott

What about Therrien?
WD is constantly under the hot seat here despite a winning record over the last 15 games yet Therrien has the habs only winning 7 of their last 22 and no mention of the coach?

Considering the got a younger version of Prust with more upside and a 5th in that deal it's hard to say it's poor .. I'd say cutting bait on Kassian so soon was the worse choice ....and the tinordi trade had very little to do with John Scott ...I know he was an allstar but surprisingly not the center piece

They were over achieving at the beginning of the season due to stellar goaltending and Plekanec was on a hot streak as one of the top scorers. |

The Habs are ALL Carey Price. Their coach is arguably the worst in the NHL. That guy is a total jackass and I am surprised he is still their coach. Their D are pretty solid, I think Nathan Bealieu (sp?) and Petry are VERY under-rated. I think Markov is smart and I think Subban is a insanely good skater and offensive d-man. Their scoring has been poop for the last HOW MANY years? Apart from their top line and Dale Weise having a strong start (which he cooled off like everyone predicted), they have ZERO secondary scoring.
Vrbata for Juulsen? (One can dream right?) |

Cap central shows the Habs with 2.3mil in cap space, if we had to eat salary in any deal to move a ufa, I can live with that. salary will only be on the books for the balance of this season and not impact summer ufa signings.
The point is to add prospects or picks. |

retaining salary for this year on Vrbata would not be the end of the world as it disappears after the season anyway. I think everyone is in the mentality that we will have to retain salary if we ever want to make a hockey deal due to the fact that most of our contracts are so insanely ridiculous (mainly from the Gillis Era). |

Agree. I would retain salary if it meant moving all our older players on shltty contracts. We more than likely won't be making the playoff's and will have huge money to spend in the summer, so lets retain a bit, get some draft picks, and start fresh come the Summer. |

Imo the whole point of moving a player is ridding yourself of that salary. A good GM will be creative enough to move said salary for what he can get. I feel you are both setting the bar too low. Thats just my take. |

Eating salary to increase value on a contract that expires this year means nothing. We only need to shed salary for the off season. |
