Complications from pneumonia and other illnesses. Just heartbreaking, Hotel California was the first song I ever learned to play.

Pneumonia death in 60's? Weird.

wow, just read the coyotes blogger on here--James Tanner--talk about Don Cherry being able to actually write an article.

Yikes.

Occasionally (as in rarely) I go over there because it feels like a 4chan forum. I get masochistically curious. It's truly a marvel -- fans of all different teams duking it out with Tanner, the never-wrong Prince of Arrogance, in a battle to see who can be more incomprehensible. But he got destroyed by someone earlier who did his homework on analytics and proved Tanner wrong. He refuses to answer directly. It's glorious.

So last night I'm three rows from the ice, right of the Red Wings penalty box. Brayden Schenn takes a hit that puts him 6 feet into the air on open ice, about 12 feet infront of me. When I heard the sound that his body made and the way he landed, I thought he broke his arm or his shoulder. To my surprise the kid never left the bench and he returned to the game.

This leaves me to my question, and please let me know if I'm too soft on this kid because to me the collective group is too hard on him.

If Brayden Schenn brings a "soft game" against Toronto on Tuesday, so we forget about this hit, explain he's inconsistent and demand for his trade?

Now, I have no desire to alienate anyone by getting into the argument that I was there, you weren't, bluh bluh bluh. We all saw it. It's midseason. I think an argument can be made that nobody is 100% and that these guys probably wear ice bags as if they are the newest, hottest fashion. Again I ask, if Brayden Schenn doesn't bring a physical game against Toronto, will he be deemed useless and would it be fair by us to do so?

And Yes, I do believe Schenn sort of an undersized guy who cannot bring the same physical game every night. Much bigger guys like Simmonds or Hartnell, I don't think they are capable of physically flying that high into the air.

Of course as always, I could be wrong.

My question for you, and a very important one.

Read that you were hitting on a woman during warm-ups? How did that go!

Not that I feel sympathy, but the Penguins have been the better team tonight. Be nice if the Blues can steal 2 in regulation here

They're both wrong, unless they feel the contact was penalty worthy. You can waive off the goal and rule the contact incidental. The rule allows for a goal to get washed out and no penalty to be called.

I don't have an issue with the calls on the goals. Neuvirth wasn't really interfered with, and he admitted himself after the game that it wasn't an issue. Simmonds' ass hitting his head obviously played a role in Mrazek missing the Gostisbehere shot, so I'm fine with it being ruled no goal

But a penalty? No. It was incidental contact and unintentional. Simmonds is allowed to establish position-as is the goalie-and Simmonds' didn't intentionally hit him.

Sorry. Way back reading after being on the slopes all day. Just wanted to clarify that as I recall Jonsey said that it should not be a penalty but the goal was properly waived off. Basically exactly what Jasq said.

Gudas is a good bottom pair 4/5 player at best. But we may also have to consider MDZ is turning into a borderline top pair player. That has been our top pair this season, especially when Streit went down, and they've done exceedingly well. MDZ is turning into a stud. His offense is down, but I'm in the camp it's a combo of poor poor luck with team shooting %s, accentuated by playing on one of the lowest scoring teams (not last month and a half though) so far. I think his points will stabilize. Hampus Lindholm is his mirror image this year on the Ducks.

If MDZ performs like this into next season, a 6 year $30 mil contract would be a fantastic deal. They can pay a guy who actually deserves that contract.

MDZ is a forgotten man in here. He is fantastic. When he was out those couple games. This defense was in tatters

See, I don't like Jones. He's OK, but nothing special, IMO.

I love Boucher. I think he's going to get a national job.

- Jsaquella

I like them both. Maybe part of the reason I like Jonsey so much is from his book which is hilarious.

This game is much like the Ranger game. Pens are outplaying the Blues, but St Louis is converting every opportunity.

3rd goal a bouncing puck landed flat after Ian Cole missed in just in time for Brouwer to bury it, and the 4th goal was off a good defensive play by the Pens and Stastny read it perfectly and made a great play & shot.

Pens now have an empty net with 3 mins left

Like a one-afternoon read but I just love the way he has such a humble lunch pail attitude and how he played so far above his station in life.
