I honestly think that Risto is just fine as our top pairing guy and then stick him with someone who is good enough there but maybe not viewed as top pairing guy. Then BoGo is good enough to do the same on the 2nd line. Could Bogo be better absolutely. Would I love to add another elite ceiling dmen to our top 4... absolutely..
but...
McCabe - Risto
Bogo - Pysyk
Is a PRETTY SOLID top 4 going into the future. Its not.. ELITE.. but its pretty good. - JVince11

In case anyone wants to think about this, the Sabres as 8 points out of a playoff spot. Only reason I bring it up is because of how terrible the east is right now. Other than Washington and a few other teams at certain points there aren't many juggernauts.
Also 4 points out of 30th but ya know |

Weber is the only player on this team to have played more than 15 games this season and have a plus rating.
Weber leads this team with a +3 on 28 games played and avg of 15 TOI per game.
Moulson is next at -1
Reinhart is -2
Pysyk in 20 games is -2 - JVince11
Yep.
Weber has been good.
Idk why ppl need to keep bashing him.
I wouldn't be surprised if he gets traded at the deadline. He'll prob have interest from a number of teams...

Jack Eichel is last with a -13. Just thought that was interesting. - Zschalberg
All of his ice time, combined with his not exactly defensive stalwart linemates and his own shortcomings in the defensive zone, I'm not too surprised. He's like Ovi in that fashion, despite the fact Nik Backstrom is a very good two way center.
Add that to our propensity to not score a lot in ES. |

My brain is still really liking signing Demers to come here as a UFA this offseason.
Weber and Colia are UFAs to leave...
Demers - Risto
Bogo - Pysyk
McCabe - Franson
Ruhwedel
or some variation of. |

I bet he will get interest from teams as well.
As long as he is the 3rd pairing... limited ice time.. usually not against a team's top pairing. He is respectable. I don't mind him. It is when they have to or try to do too much with him and give him more responsibility that it goes to sh1t. IMO. |

I think them having McNabb there is only to not have your best 2 guys on the same pairing being Muzzin. I don't think he is widely thought of as a top pairing guy.
he has 7 point sin 47 games, leads the team in PIM, and is actually 4th in DMEN for ice time - JVince11
Right, but just that he's holding his own in that role is impressive...
And begs the question of why he never was given a chance to plate here
That's why it bugs me that he was traded
Also, I'm not as high on Fasching as most
Your icetime point isn't really that accurate,
Bc McNabb has moved up throughout this season gaining more & more icetime & responsibility
The points he has doesn't matter to me either
That's not his game |

Correct, just though it was interesting that he was last.
Also interesting is that OV is +19 this year. He's also a positive player for his career.
05-06: +2
06-07: -19
07-08: +28
08-09: +8
09-10: +45
10-11: +24
11-12: -8
12-13: +2
13-14: -35
14-15: +10
15-16: +19
Total: +76
With all the talk about him being terrible on defense and terrible +/- I always assumed his +/- was worse. Other than one really bad year and his sophomore year he's been respectable.
Edit: Has been negative in the playoffs each year since 10-11 however. |

Not sure what to do with Ruhwedel. He'll probably be a bounce around journey dman the rest of his career. |

I would be okay re-signing him even though he infuriates me sometimes. Let him be a 6/7 and a voice in that room next year. |

Muzzin - Doughtry are together 18% of the time.
McNabb - Dougthry are together 24% of the time.
Seems like split ice time to me depending on defensive or offensive entry or special teams.
I liked McNabb but he played here when we were bad and he just developed slower. I think that getting Deslauriers and Fasching were very nice pieces. You are just upset because McNabb has already blossomed for them and our biggest piece being Fasching is still in the NCAA where he is a PPG player mind you. |

I hear ya...
But can u see McCabe becoming that guy?
Seems like most were willing to see Zadorov as that guy, I'm assuming bc he was a 1st round pick
I'll spare u the list of non-1st rounders that are now considered "top pair" guys
Who do u think that "one big piece" could be that we can acquire? |

Actually looking back i think duchene couldve signed for more and when he realized the avs understandably couldnt pay ROR more |

He did also have a +45 a +28 and a +22. That was the last year a Bruce I believe or the first year of Oates. Washington missed the playoffs that year with 90 points going 38-30-14. 12th in the league for GF with 235 (Buffalo had 157 ). Backstrom was also a -20. That entire team looked messed up that year. |

I was a big fan of McNabb and wasn't a huge fan of the trade at the time. That said, I think we're going to be just fine without him. His game never really developed (even now) the way that I had hoped it would. He's got a really nice shot from the point, but hasn't figured out how to utilitze it at the NHL level. His skating also leaves a LOT to be desired and the physical presence he's had at every level hasn't translated in the NHL for the most part either.
I think if you look at just Deslauriers alone, it's even from that standpoint. The 2 second rounders they gave up resulted in Fasching, who has developed quite nicely at the NCAA level. It'll be interesting to see if he can take the next step at the AHL level soon. |

I'm tapering my expectations for this kid but he's doing work in college. Would be big for the organization if that translated over to the bigs. |

interesting thing, according to nhl.com,
craig ramsay +328
gilbert perreault +42
of course ramsay had 17 power play goals for his career to perreaults 134.

I agree seems to be trolling.
You see my last post. I honestly think the Avs signed Dutch to a great contract and when the flames stuck their hands in the cookie jar it extended ROR big deal for 2 years.
After two years all players were making more and they couldnt (understandably) pay ROR more. |

I really think that he will be able to come here and be a 2nd line winger in his first year.
He is Girgensons with more scoring touch to him or a poor man's Lucic of physicality but with slightly less scoring touch according to most reports I've seen on him.
There has been talk about him leaving Minnesota last year so I think he really could leave this year. |

I'm pretty sure Fasching left the option of where he was going to to play this year up to the Sabres. They told him they thought he needed another year in college. I bet they'll revisit it this summer during prospect camp. |
