Dude, I spend a lot of time in the Habs thread. For the first time since they've drafted him the fans are no longer calling him untouchable. - golfingsince
yes I'm going to go to a habs thread for my info over a panel of journalists who get payed to look at analytics and watch hockey... |

I think I'm going to leave it alone, cause it just doesn't make a lot of sense... Larionov's a great example as he came over and already played a solid all-around game. - neem55
You start a discussion about drafting " Russians " and you're argument for doing so is ...Ovie and larionov were great? Yeah maybe you should. Or I'll come back with...we should target Canadians ....because yzerman and Phil Esposito played some great hockey . |

my argument was that Kucherov and Kuznetzov are great, actually, and that maybe we should draft a russian winger as those guys went late 1st round and 2nd round and they seem to slip down boards. |

I'm not sure where you're going with this, but it seems like you originally tried to compare Galchenyuk and Leo Komarov to Pavel Bure.
You seem convinced that Galchenyuk is going to be a bonafide #1C, which is fine it's our opinion. However, this is his 4th year in the league and he can't beat out Plekanek and Lars Eller.
Perhaps you should tone down the "you're off your rocker" rhetoric. |

Look, you said he got moved cause he doesn't distribute the puck well, which is just plainly a false statement. if anything I'd imagine cause he's getting beat defensively. You before that claimed he played with players that he does not play with, save for the powerplay (which he is on because he distributes the puck exceptionally well). So I said you're off your rocker, which I find both hilarious thing to say and also in this case true, as you were just stating falsities. |

He doesn't distribute well, because he has tunnel vision. He also had a stint on the top line, which didn't work out. He got moved to the wing because he plays better there, which is the reason he has played most of his pro career there.
If he's the surefire #1C you claim he is you figure that by his 3rd year in the league he'd at least be playing in the middle.....no? |

He's 21 and it's his first year playing center, I would expect the learning curve to be pretty steep. Don't know what you mean by tunnel vision as he seems like an elite passer to me. I would imagine habs fans are upset, the fact is the sky is falling there as Price isn't there to elevate an otherwise average team. Galchenyuk is the best forward they've got, even at his age and I think he is only going to get better. Granted some guys are stars by their 3rd year for sure, he has done nothing but get better all-around IMO on a very defensive team. I hope he does get shipped out, ideally to Van |
