Are we going to start a pool how many more Days Prust is a Canuck
- VANTEL

It's getting bad. I was an advocate of bringing him here as I thought he was effective in MTL and we needed what he brought...not so much now. It's clear his head is still in MTL and he doesn't want to be here. Kinda reminds me of Bieksa a bit where he just doesn't seem to want his role.

If that's what we are going to continue to get from Prust we may as well get the pick back and let Dorsett handle the load.

Dude, I don't know what kind of blood fued you've got going on with Lidster and I don't think anyone's saying he deserves a Jack Adams, or WD for that matter, but look at the six names on his lineup card. This D is shlt.

Well said. Don't blame coaching when this is the personnel they have to work with.

Team 1040 poll question" What do you do with Miller?".

I don't know of any team that wants him and I think he keeps us close in games, so so my answer is Nothing.

- VANTEL

Unless the phone is ringing off the hook about him thesis exactly what you do.

Is there anything wrong with the Higgins treatment? I believe at this level there has to be a point when you say enough is enough. I don't think either has really been helping their team for a while.

Nice to hear from you btw.

- thundachunk

There was nothing wrong with the Higgins treatment. Just media driven hysteria from a bunch of hypocrites, drama queens and plagiarists.

I have no problem with it either. At some point the country club mentality has to end.

I think its becoming more evident he is a good locker room guy when things are going good. He likes to "run the show", enforce the code on and off the ice, and thinks he is an excellent mentor. I think when things go south you see he's ignorant of his role and the first to cause a scene. I wasnt a fan when the Canucks acquired him, he grew on my the first little while and now I remember why I think he's a d-bag

The only problem (if you can call it that) was the team announcing that they were going to try and trade him and saying that they asked him to stay away from the team then waiving him. That was a little unnecessary, even though it's very minor and it got blown WAY out of proportion by this market and it's media.

Wow somewhere you'd think Sestito is laughing...McGratton beat up Sestito what..20 times?
- LordHumungous

Actually Andrew Albert's is one who's probably laughing right now, which is a horrible thing to say but I a Team 1040 interview with Albert's not long ago Andrew said he's still dealing with concussion symptoms and he never even got a phone call from McGrattan saying sorry or to see how he was even though he had to retire from the game.

Karma.

At least Miller and Markstrom are seeing the puck.
- thundachunk

ya cant complain on the goaltending side of it.

now we need the goaltending and defense to work together so they both know where rebound placement will normally be directed and have a D waiting to clear it from teh zone. That right there will improve team defense and create more offensive rushes

I think it's probably a little from column A and a little from column B, but I'm not sure how much more can be done with this group of players. It's a mix of young and inexperienced, old and ineffective, above average goaltending and Sedin.

Maybe they will give Freisen a shot
- VANTEL

I don't know - Grenier is 6 inches taller and 15 pounds heavier - similar speed and skill - I'd rather have a bigger body on the 4th line

You dont get the
entire D
doing the same crap due to a roster issue. Thats execution.

watch the D during a game. Theres no direction, no exit strategy, no rebound coordinated direction. Its absent.

Sure there isnt the hawks D lineup here, but rosters dont make an entire D lineup including the vet hamius do the same god awful kaos. THere's just no plan in place. In general If people cant see it they dont understand hockey defense very well.

[quote=VANTEL]I think Prust is moved in the next 7 days.

I think Burrows just might be kept seeing he brings experience to the Vey Etem line. I don't think Vey is going back . I think Biega gets 2 years 1 mil per.

Out

Hamhuis 4.5
Prust 2.5
Weber 1.5
Vrbata 5
Higgins 1.6
Bart 1.75

Total 16.85

In

Biega plus 300k raise
Gaunce 800k replace Higgins
Pedan 900k

Add Cracknell to this list please and replace him with Grenier C/4th

- Brooks_Light

Gaunce and grenier are not making the team next year, neither is shink. They just arn't ready for it. One more year in the minors will do them some good.
Bart may be back as a 7.
Higgins may be back to start the year of they can't trade him. Personally I wouldn't buy him out yet. Don't want the hit for 2 years. If we sign some big dollar ufa then we might need to buy him out, until then he works on his game in the AHL, hopefully he retires. If not we retain half his salary next year and try to trade him.

What was the Higgins treatment? He played lots of games and then the management didn't think he was contributing any longer and made a move. This is pro sport and everyone's days are numbered. He's still getting paid an insane amount of money.

Exactly.
Tony Gallagher has filed a Human Rights complaint with the UN, however.

Never liked Gallagher.

I still remember him writing about trading the Sedins for secondary scoring during the WCE years.

My wife works at a bank. Whenever anyone is let go, they are escorted to the door by security after they get the news. When this practice started, it was assumed the person being escorted from the premises was a problem employee, but this escorting is done now for every employee except maybe those retiring and leaving on their own terms.

With all the publicity around Higgins, I think they went public with his availability to show they left no stone unturned to explore ways to move him.

Maybe it is the new reality of the hockey business?. It has to be tough for anyone losing their role in a team or group and then are removed from the group.

He is, admittedly, a 'Gillis' guy. Doesn't like Benning and whines more than Phucker did about the current management. The local sports media here are a bunch of entitled little prima donnas.

I curse a lot less at random strangers since stopped tuning into the TSN 1040 morning show. The rest of it has almost lost me as well. Sekeres is just a younger shriller Tony G.
