I can't imagine Franson has much value at the deadline. He was moved for a 1st to Nashville last year and ended up a healthy scratch.
He's fine as a 3rd pairing PP guy.
My guess is Weber is moved for a 4th-6th and maybe Gorges. - sbroads24
Is that better or worse than giving a first for Gaustad?
I bet Weber would stay here on a reasonable deal. Perfect 7th d.

I don't know why I never realized that he was as slow as he is. Even though he isn't that old you could see him out of the league in a year or two. Very disappointing. |

I will admit he's playing well, but he's done this 10x before, then looks like a complete tire fire the next game. |

Say we go on a HUGE run before the trade deadline, sitting in a wild card slot, are we still 'Sellers'? |

The Sabres won this Trade in an Avalanche O'Reilly > Grigs, Zadorov, whatever else they gave up.
Plus they got McGinn in the deal who's having a great season, who'll they'll be able to trade at the deadline for a draft pick or prospect. |

I think it's still too early to say that. The wild card in this trade could be Compher. Like some have said, he's been really good for Michigan this year. Plus we still don't fully know how Grigorenko and Zadorov end up panning out.
What we did is give up 3 unknowns for 2 established players. For all we know, those unknowns could turn into better players than the 2 already established ones over the course of their careers.
Too many variables to actually state who "won" the trade. |

That movie is either going to be one of the best comic book movies of all time, or just a complete stinker, after that trailer, there is no in between - DDM-Coga
With the tone the first trailer had compared to the one released last night, and with Batman being in it as well, I think it is going to be very good.
Couple that with what I have seen from Batman v Superman, and especially what I heard is going to happen at the end of that, and it will be a very exciting year for comic movie fans. |

On top of that, it doesn't seem like even a good idea to pay your 7th D much, not that Weber will be paid much. |

I know this might be jumping the gun but I'm hoping they make a joker 2 movie now he looks absolutely awesome - gerbe75pts
From what they showed last night about Batman v Superman, it is giving fuel to the fire of what has been posted regarding the ending of that movie and what will take place.
Hint: Aquaman. |

The trade takes a small hit if McGinn walks, but chances are slim Murray gets nothing for him.
Overall though, definitely agree that there's a winner yet, other than BOTH being winners for accomplishing what they each needed |

The money is too good... Also, no state income tax.
Plus, the areas I hang out in aren't country so I'm content with it so far.

I agree, I don't see Murray letting McGinn walk for nothing. There's no way that he doesn't garner some sort of interest from a playoff team looking to add that type of player to the mix. There's always a couple teams that are looking for exactly what he provides at the deadline.
That said, I wouldn't hate resigning him, but I feel like he may be more expensive than he probably should be. |

If I were to bet, i would think Murray trades him at the deadline with a "wink wink nudge nudge" implication of a reasonable offer over the summer. If another team throws dump trucks of money at him, we may never see him again.
While this team doesn't look great on paper or the standings, I'm sure from the outside, the potential is obvious to other players. McGinn has the luxury of knowing what it's like in the Locker room, so he may sign here for a reasonable contract to hope to make the playoffs in a year or two with a group he knows vs. signing with a team like Carolina because they throw money at him.
for the record, just picked Carolina for no specific reason….just insert any random team in my logic here unless its someone at the top of the standings with the cap space available. |

Looks good, no doubt Gerbe. - kingcong39
Sorry but i think it looks like complete poope...After watching the trailer idk what the movie is more about the squad or Overly tattooed and purple joker cruising around in their modded infiniti with Harley smiling the whole time, and Batman showing up at some point...
Movie will go like this. Show Joker and Harley, Joker and Harley, random squad member using their powers, Rinse Repeat end on Batfleck showing up saying "I'm Batman" and roll credits |

I think you're missing tons of "Will Smith" time.... Pretty much was a mainstay in the second trailer. |

Since it will be the Joker as the one they are all after, probably equal parts of both the squad and him. |

I wonder how much more they could get for him if they agree to pay half his remaining salary? I am guessing that ups the options as far as bidders go quite a bit as it's not easy to get that kind of production from a veteran at $1.5M (pro-rated). |

I'm sure that could help. I don't believe we're retaining any salary at all so, they certainly have that option available to them. Overall, I don't think there's many guys that would be on the move for us this year. I don't know that they'd get any interest in Colaiacovo or Weber. Moulson and Gionta have at least some sort of NTC that you'd have to contend with, as well as term. I haven't had an issue with Legwand as the 4C, but I don't see anyone knocking down our doors to get him.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Murray make some sort of trade that none of us even remotely expects though. |

Moulson (some percentage of salary retained) and a lower level prospect of some kind for a 6th round pick. |
