I'm sure that could help. I don't believe we're retaining any salary at all so, they certainly have that option available to them. Overall, I don't think there's many guys that would be on the move for us this year. I don't know that they'd get any interest in Colaiacovo or Weber. Moulson and Gionta have at least some sort of NTC that you'd have to contend with, as well as term. I haven't had an issue with Legwand as the 4C, but I don't see anyone knocking down our doors to get him.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Murray make some sort of trade that none of us even remotely expects though. - HonkFortheGoose
MTL has young depth at D and can't score to save their lives. They are in a free fall and need a shakeup. Is Drouin the answer, or maybe a more established presence in the NHL - still young but having a down year??? |

Moulson (some percentage of salary retained) and a lower level prospect of some kind for a 6th round pick. - kingcong39
It's not that easy. He has a limited NTC, meaning that he can say no usually to a set number of teams (usually 8 I believe). That right there limits what Murray can do. Plus he's the guy your Star prize is currently living with. Probably not the best idea to be trading him at the moment. |

If we trade Moulson and Jack needs a room I've got one for him.
Moulson will need to be moved and I'm thinking it'll be next year. We might end up paying someone to take his salary and bury him or trade him to an expansion team (assuming he isn't taken in an expansion draft). |

Since it will be the Joker as the one they are all after, probably equal parts of both the squad and him. - kingcong39
It shouldn't be though... i know its all one universe but if you're introducing a new joker while a new batman is about that's where he should be. IF DC's big endgame is Darkseid (to which some of the scenes in BvsS suggest) you should have the squad trying to take out one of darkseids little minions that they have a history with, say Glorious Godfrey? |

I have sort of been against re-signing McGinn as I feel he will cost too much...
However, with the apparent chemistry between him and Eichel, does anyone else think it could be a situation similar to Crosby and Dupuis or Kunitz?
Seems as though for years it's been tough for certain players to play with Crosby.
If McGinn and Eichel mesh well together, and you can count on decent production from McGinn, it's possible that resigning him is worth it.

I almost feel like after a year in the Minors, Fasching could be that guy too. He's improving in all the areas the front office is asking him to, but I feel like he's going to need a year in the minors to make a smooth transition. I remember hearing that he wasn't the greatest skater and now Kris Baker is saying he has "NHL Level" hands and skating ability.

Per Lebrun, TBL suspend Drouin without pay for not showing up for game tonight. |

Wow.
his stock continues to drop.
Not sure I really understand this so early in one's career.
Seems like a lot of red flags on him.

Was just about to post about that.
Red flag for Drouin? Or is this a player trying to protect his own interest when it seems apparent his team doesn't have his best interest in mind?
It's tough to get a read on the whole situation without knowing what's really going on behind the scenes. |

I remember back in 2009 where the rumor was the Blackhawks willing to part away with Kane and Crawford for Miller. Sabres wanted a draft choice in addition to those two. One of the worst decision made by the Sabres managment. After 3 stanley cups, and Crawford one of the underrated goalies and Kane, well we know what he has done, Sabres could now only wish....... |

From what I've heard, TB pretty much said EFF you to Drouin wanting out and sent him down. Drouin now realizes TB doesn't want to move him, or at least at the moment, and is doing what he has to do to force them to move him. Hey if this drives down his value gmtm should consider it. Maybe in the right environment he'd flourish. As long as the price id cheap id do it. Trade will happen by the weekend, guaranteed. As to who, I don't know. |

Yeah, I remember hearing Miller for Kane straight up, but it was debunked almost immediately. Just like the Getzlaf for Myers. |

I think, if it's even possible, that Allan Walsh is an even bigger D-Bag than Drew Rosenhaus.

I actually love the move by Drouin and Walsh. Honestly Yzerman and Cooper are just as much, if more at fault for this. I usually think Walsh is a douche canoe but he is sticking it to Yzmeran on this one with just cause
Drouin quietly asked for a trade 2-3 months ago, and they have dragged it out and created a media circus with the way they have handled the situation |

Who would trade their number one overall draft pick for a goalie?
Not even GMTM. |

I like McGinn and hope they can sign him for a reasonable amount. He slides up and down the lineup rather nicely, which is valuable. I think $4m is tops I would go and hope for less. More than $4M is going to be tough. |

Just a guess here but I would think Walsh knew of a trade pending for Drouin and Yzerman nixed at the last minute. Now the only card Walsh could play is to have Drouin refuse to play in the AHL and force the TBL into a trade. Cat and mouse game.

This is sounding more and more like Hodgson a few years ago.
Wonder if Drouin is a head case as well.
I gotta believe he has contributed as much to the situation as management has, after all it isn't in the teams best interest to screw with a 3rd overall pick who showed great production in Jrs. |

I agree, but it doesn't make him any less of a tool. Why doesn't he just say what the deal was? That would really put the screws to Yzerman. |
