Because Drouin has outproduced all of them yet JM gets first line minutes, Bo gets second line minutes, Hutton gets top 4 minutes.........and Drouin is in the minors?
Just a guess. - golfingsince
And McCann has been told he will only play certain days and on his off days he needs to work out and eat certain foods. And Virtanen supposedly was to play against the Rangers, but then was yanked from the lineup because a non-performing veteran had his own tantrum. Maybe these two rookies should hire Walsh and walk out. |

I wonder if Jeremiah would trade Edler for Drouin? - golfingsince
I think he would trade him for a bag of skittles |

So's BoHo, JV, McCann, Hutton (although he's older mind you) and yet you don't see them pouting about playing time or being scratched. Being a kid is no excuse, look at the way JV handled being destroyed by the media and public over the WJHC... why does Drouin get himself a pass being roughly the same age? - DariusKnight
All you have to do is spend a few minutes on these boards to understand that not everyone is at the same level of maturity. They aren't when they're adults, and they certainly aren't when they are in their late teens/early twenties. I'm not giving him a free pass, which I've been clear about, but I'm also not writing him off. If he can be had on the cheap because of this then the Canucks should absolutely be looking into it. |

When I was 20, I had a full-time job, took care of my grandmother who had cancer and couldn't take care of herself and that's despite the fact that I had just spent 2 years recovering from a knee injury in Junior A that ended any hope of making the pros. Am I unique? Maybe, but I don't see Connor McDavid, or Jack Eichel, or Nathan McKinnon or Sam Reinhart or plenty of others who are the same age who pull that kind of poop. - DariusKnight
You mean all those guys that went straight to the NHL ?
Yeah, they should throw a tantrum and demand to be playing in the AHL.......

I would be looking at him IF he fires his agent and reports to Syracuse and plays like he wants back into the NHL. Otherwise he's Kassian 2.0 but without the addiction problems (meaning that he's not someone you want in your dressing room for others to look up to) |

except that they are getting to play regularly in the NHL, getting paid those dollars and have no reason to be upset as they have oppertunity to play, learn and develop. Maybe if next year, after playing a year in the show, they are (frank)ed around with and sent to the AHL they will ask for a trade. Hopefully JB isn't stupid enough to do that. |

I hate this excuse. At 20 years old its time to take responsibility. Man up. He can vote. He can go to war. If he commits a crime he's tried as a man. Its time we stopped coddling these kids and let them be men. |

I think that ultimately it's Prust's decision. |

So you'll look at him if he raises his value.
I'd much rather buy low. |

Actually Sam Reinhart didn't go straight to the NHL, he was sent back to junior by Buffalo last year. But that's a fair point, and I'll concede that Drouin may not have had the types of opportunities the rest did. |

I agree. But if you played 70 games last year, came into camp in the best shape of your life and got demoted after coming back from injury... and it's not even like TB is doing well, their second line has been weak this year. |

No, I'd look at him when he shows that he's not going to be a distraction or a locker room issue. His trade value's going to stay low regardless. |

And I hate this excuse. The little guy can't even go to Vegas and buy a cocktail. Yes he's legally an adult, mostly, and should be treated like one. But if you expect anyone at that age to have spot on decision making then you're setting yourself up for disappointment. |

He got demoted because the team wanted him to get his conditioning back in an environment that wasn't as fast as the NHL. The team wasn't going to be significantly better with him coming back until he was back to full speed. What the TBL did wasn't any different than what Vancouver did with BoHo last year. The only difference is that it got BoHo significant playing time and helped boost his confidence enough that he earned his spot on the roster. |

I would hope that if next year they aren't showing enough to play regularly in the NHL that Benning has the balls to send them to the AHL and let them develop there. And if that were to happen and they pull a stunt like this that the team would suspend them too.
Do you think Yzerman thought to himself: "Hmmm, I have this third overall pick. What should I do to fck with him?" I think he saw a player that for whatever reason needed some time in the AHL. I think he sees an asset and wants it to develop as best as possible. However, the kid thought he knows better and walks out. |

And why are they in and Drouin isn't? Attitude ....our kids are humble , keep ears open and eyes shut. Drouin is a self intitled prima doña that thinks he's owed something. |

If you can get an asset at a discount, particularly when you're in the position the Canucks are, then you've got to consider it. |

But Boho hadn't asked for a trade four months earlier after being unhappy with no doubt a combination of things. I don't agree with walking away from the team, it's a childish move and I can't believe his agent endorsed that poop. that being said, somethings funky in T-bay and its not the nightclub near the arena. |
