With Drouin none of us have the facts. If he was disrespected by his coach management I would also ask for a trade. The lightning have had months to put a deal together and have done nothing so he might just be done with it. All situations are different so really its tough to comment on but I could see myself doing the same thing depending on what happened. - mauryballstein
Maybe, and if that's the case then it still makes him look bad that he's not even willing to play even just to showcase himself so that some team is willing to pay whatever TB wants for him. Just not quite as bad, but I highly doubt this is the case, my guess is that SY and JC are more worried about Stamkos and either getting him signed long-term or trade him for as many assets as they can manage since they'd instantly be in a rebuild situation. |

I agree with this, it's tough to say what went on here. |

Send them Hamhuis and a 2nd, take back Carle. That's the kind of deal. - golfingsince
Exactly. This is the kind of kid that can really learn from the Sedins. |

that's my thought too, he's been a great fit there and I think they ship out Gabbo to keep him in the offseason. |

Your first reaction is Prima Donna, self centre, cancer etc... He is Daniels replacement in two years. With probably 10-12 years of being productive. Again I look at this as a Baertschi type deal with a big upside.
If he is a bad dude you can bury him. Nothing ventured nothing gained. - VANTEL
Spot on. To me it seems like medium risk high reward. That said, I'm not moving any core future pieces for him. |

No, for sure. But they could use help in their top 6 right now Vrbata... maybe they even need a "character" guy
edit: I'm willing to put Prust in a package for anything at this point. |

No....you don't want this head case in you're room . Drop the crap vets sink to bottom and draft a kid that wants to play for you. |

I think the issue at hand is that he does really want to play, for anyone. T-bay doesn't want that, so he wants out. |

And how exactly do you know a draft pick wants to play for you?
For all we know Demko and Boeser could finish their 4 years and say FU, here is some crappy compensatory pick.

And so asked for a trade as both his stats and points warrant NHL icetime on the other 29 teams in the league. - neem55
Hasn't proved a thing. 6 goals in 90 games....yeah put up or shut up. He ain't putting up and he's not shutting up either. |

I don't care about his feelings. But just because he's not mature now doesn't mean he won't be. People mature at different rates. But now that his character's in question you might be able to get him on the cheap. If you can, go for it, or at least consider it. If you can't, then it's not worth the risk. - CubanBuffet
I would give him a chance if its not going to cost us Bo Jared or Jake. JB would have to get creative. Drouin is not making a case for himself right now is all. Show up do your job. Fire your agent. I think his agent is the same agent that told Pavlec to do the same think when getting sent down to the ahl. |

We'll see. A lot of the insiders are saying they are trying to work out a deal already. |

Sure they can...but we already know that Drouin doesn't want to play for TBay. And he doesn't want to play for Syracuse now don't we? Do you think it's a good idea to reward this spoiled lil female dog for what he's doing? Ohhh boo hoo I'm only making 90k a year in the minors....(frank) that guy, if I'm yzerman I don't trade that (frank)er till he's a week away from ufa status. Enjoy pumping gas and payin your agents wages on that ! |

it's 40 points in 90 games, don't be a pontz and skew stats to look like he's underachieving. He also has excellent puck management at this level and has shown to be able to play on the powerplay. |

Ohh yeah pick up a bunch of second assists on a team that led the league in scoring an went to the cup. Give yzerman some (frank)ing credit. I think he understands what it takes to be a hockey player |

Good one a bunch of second assists... you're a clever one. I agree Yzerman does know what it takes... HE DRAFTED HIM. |

Still if the right deal is there for him I do it. Doing some research on his agent and he is not the smartest dude and this has happened before. This could be the product of JD being naive. I would give him a pass if he fired his agent. Mistakes happen. He isn't doing himself any favours right now though. |

Doug Maclean from Sportsnet said JD's agent Allan Walsh pulled this same garbage with another prospect back when was Columbus's GM.
He didn't say who it was though.

If he was making a positive case for himself then he would be out of our price range. |
