Keep in mind he has been showcasing himself since october/november which is when he asked to be traded. His agent said and yzerman confirmed that they just didnt want to release it to the media after nothing happened they went public. They took their two weeks in the ahl and still nothing. So the hold out is now happening. I really think something goofy happened but even if not he did give them months to make a deal.

Right or wrong he just took the one step he can take to lower the asking price in a trade

Might be the best we can get! Hoping for a 4th or 5th round pick.... Teams might pay more for some grit. Just hoping we don't have to eat any salary... Could make dealing vrbata or burrows more difficult.... Because you know we'll have to eat salary on burrows

I don't really care about eating salary on expiring contracts. He's off the books at the end of the year. If eating one mil makes a difference of a higher DP then do it.

Canucks are going to be the Big Dogs this year at Auction. If Burrows and Miller get added to the list of players moved they will have 27 mil in space ( unless they eat trade salary) they have RFAs to resign but no one deserving millions increase. Sven might be the highest with bridge deal , but I don't see it more than 2 mil

I'm on Drouin's side here. Yzerman was given over two months to quietly move the guy and he didn't. the kid goes to the A and plays there and still nothing. so f* yzerman and tampa, force the issue now.

Tampa could have moved him when things were all quiet, but htey are screwing the kid around. he should be in the Nhl now and not rotting away in the A.

Now he'll wait things out. at some point those idiots in Tampa will realize he's a diminishing asset and move him.

JB should get in on the action now and offer a 1st, Weber and Prust for him.

the guy could be our future #1 centre... a legit No. 1 at that... all he wants is the chance to play.

might be better than Seguin.

Agreed.

But we need to get a package together and get Drouin while the getting is good. See above deal template and go from there.

You can move guys on expiring contracts pretty easily..... But if we want to move burrows we'll have to eat some salary for sure.

Isn't Drouin LW?

I don't think Prust and Weber matter. I would consider trading our first but I think I would try Hamhuis and Shink before. It is looking like we will be picking 12 th so that may be ok.

I hope he sits at home until his contract runs out at the end of next season. He's a self-entitled little brat who will have as much success as Cody Hodgson.

Hasn't proved a thing. 6 goals in 90 games....yeah put up or shut up. He ain't putting up and he's not shutting up either.
- Bullfrog77

Henrik Sedin in first 82 games = g9 a20 pt29
Drouin first 89 = g6 a34 pt40

I don't think he is anywhere near a bust, just more of a play maker than goal scorer.

Sure they can...but we already know that Drouin doesn't want to play for TBay. And he doesn't want to play for Syracuse now don't we? Do you think it's a good idea to reward this spoiled lil female dog for what he's doing? Ohhh boo hoo I'm only making 90k a year in the minors....(frank) that guy, if I'm yzerman I don't trade that (frank)er till he's a week away from ufa status. Enjoy pumping gas and payin your agents wages on that !
- Bullfrog77

So for only 1 1/2 more years? Even if he hits RFA a team will offer like 1-1.5mil one way contract for 1-2 years and tampa would get nothing in compensation if they don't match. Or they would match and Drouin laughs all the way to the bank as this will just repeat itself until he is 27 y/o.

I don't really know who to blame but his agent has pulled this sh!t in the past. I tend to lean that this has escalated by a combo of all 3 parties. Everyone is a fault. We just don't know which person is at the top of this fiasco.

Easy to blame the kid but TB have had other issues with other players. Stevie Y is turning into the next Mike Gillis

Well if he loses Drouin and Stamos he might be done. Tampa should be one of those places everyone wants to play.

There is a pattern developing with Stevie Y. Stamkos...Droiun...St Louis...

There's more to that whole mngt team than we realize. Might not be good.

Is bringing in Stamkos really the way to go considering we will need cash to sign all the kids in the next 3-5 years?

I realize that a lot may be coming off the books this summer but still...

The ball is in Stamko's court, not a lot SY can do if he doesn't want to re-sign with Tampa and doesn't waive his no trade clause.

Now I blame the agent which is what I kind of figured all a long. Yes Drouin is being a b!tch but he is going on the advise from his agent. Time to save some face kid and fire your agent.

Just because Yzerman says that he didn't say that, doesn't make it true. I also don't believe everything that Allan Walsh posted is true. No one will know the truth, but either way, what a mess this is.

Fire the agent and (frank)ing PLAY in the A so that teams will be willing to trade for you. Playing in the AHL is not a horrible thing, it's clear TB doesn't want him, so you might as well dominate a lower league and improve your trade value and not let your talent/skills go to waste.
