His agent is "known" for rocking the boat. Not that Drouin's innocent, but a new agent would do him wonders.
Maybe Gillis is available - golfingsince

He's been good this year. He broke down because they played him too much.
I'm not a Miller fan, for the record. - Marwood
Bang on.
He was good early on, wore down, got injured and has been stellar since coming back.
Marky Mark stepped up in his absence and we can now play em 50/50 imo.

Here is an interesting article talking about Sbisa and his defensive ability. I'm confident that most of you will dismiss this as fancy stat garbage but I think it is difficult to ignore how some of these stats show Sbisa on a completely different level as the rest of the team and the league.
I also want to point out this isn't coming from a Canuck's perspective but from a Senator blogger.

Enjoy. - belcherbd
That's some pretty interesting fancy stats garbage. I'd be interested to see how this year's chart would look. Based on my eyball test, Sbisa would be marginally better but we wouldn't have too many Canucks in the yellow box. |

Dude seems like he gets dehydrated really easily. Im sure it has to do with age and workload.
But Marky showed he can do his job.
If they split them up 60/40 the rest if the way I'd have no issue whatsoever |

I can't say that they're wrong TBH. I'm not sure how his insurance works but you think he'd lose a poopload of money if he got seriously injured and he's on a two way deal.
I mean the kind of money that is life changing. - golfingsince
Stevie Y seems like a hard case boss imo.
The classy (not necessarily best practice) thing to do would have been to move him a month ago before going public.
It's a bit of a mess now and is a lose-lose situation.
Drouin's rep take a beating, he looks like a prima donna.
His value takes a hit and TBL theoretically get less in return when he is moved. |

1 more year of split time and then what?
Someone posted that Demko is Nhl ready.
in 2 years, could you go with Marky/Demko?
or move Marky (after Miller's contract is up) and hire a vet to mentor Demko? |

I think his reputation and value are only taking a hit because other teams are going to try to steal him from TB. I think most in the league dont see his trade demand as "diva" attitude and still would send a decent return to get him, I just haven't seen anything that would suggest otherwise |

No, trade demands don't equal diva, but sitting out (and getting suspended) will damage his rep. |

I think its hard to say anyone is NHL ready until they regularly face NHL shots. Marky would be the #1 for a while before Demko takes it, probably take a season in the AHL as the starter first. Playing college's 40 games is different than being a #1 playing 60+ |

I think teams understand the situation (ie avoiding potential injury for his new team) and likely dont think that much less about him. But I am sure there are others that will see it that same way. Tough act to balance |

With St-Louis, Drouin, and possibly Stamkos leaving you start to wonder if it has something to do with the coach/GM |

Gotcha.
So, if we assume he is ready to play pro next year and he goes to AHL...
Then the following year, Miller will be gone.
Would you theoretically:
a. go with a young tandem of Marky/Demko
b. Trade Marky and hire a Vet to mentor Demko
c. Hire a vet to play with Marky and keep Demko in the minors to marinate |
|
|

I won't be shocked if Stevie Y lets Drouin rot awhile. . Send him back a big Fuk You. |

It's a funny thing how we often side with management over players (staff) in these situations, when, i don't know about you, but i'm usually on the other side of the fence with a lot of labour disputes.

I'd go with C if all goes to plan, a vet backup. |

I'm not sure if I really side with anyone TBH. I just don't think it's all on Drouin, although he comes out of this like a punk. |

I think the worst part is the fact that this "budding superstar" has only managed to put up 3 pts in 7 AHL games, this hurting his rep/value more then anything else.
Guy was supposed to go down there and demonstrate his talent, quite the opposite has happened. |

Demko plays a full year in the AHL next year. I think the following season you sign a backup goalie for the lowest cap hit you can and just keep Demko in the AHL and then bring him up for spot starts. 3rd year pro he's up full-time. That's the game plan i'd go with personally. By the time Demko gets to his second contract he won't have much negotiating power and we'll be able to sign him for cheap for at least a couple of years |

Totally off topic but how does Bruce Budreau still have a job? He and McLean have a pretty dam good line up on paper and are still not in a playoff position. - thundachunk
he wont be employed much longer you'd think |
