Can we name a player that is around 21-22 that is ready to make an impact on this roster, that was drafted by Bergevin/Timmins? I mean, outside of Galchenyuk who was a top 3 pick...
- Pecafan Fan

He's had what 3-4 drafts? He picked 25th and 26th or something like that after grabbing Galchenyuk 3rd... players don't usually just come out and play in the league in that range... His 1st were Galchenyuk, Sherbak, McCarron and Juulsen, you have to wait a few years still before questioning his drafting, I think anyway

You have 7 draft picks per year. No excuse. The Leafs were terrible at it.

So the answer is 1. Galchenyuk.

Right?

Sekac is absolutely terrible
- DoubleDown

Bergevin has been good at acquiring bottom 6 talent and absolutely useless and getting top 6 talent for today or tomorrow.

No point analyzing the moves for Sekac, DSP, Flynn, Mitchell, Byron, Weise and co.

Sekac for Smith pelly. This team could use the skill over a 4th line right now. Not saying sekac would score 45 goals a year, but he would be a bigger offensive threat then most of the forwards on the current time roster.
- cburgess

Funny you bring that trade up the day the Ducks sent Sekac to the Hawks for Garbutt... yea horrible trade for the Habs

They hawks probably have the best management team in the nhl and they just traded for him today. So they must see something in him.

I'm sorry but the bottom 6 is as awful as the top 6.

Even you can't be that dense, Marty.

You think those guys were going to jump into the NHL in 18 months and be impact players? If that is your expectations, then stop watching hockey now.

You will live longer.

Tough to say when our top 6 is made of bottom 6 players.

Sherbak was 3 drafts ago.... McCarron is doing just fine if not better than expected he was 18 months ago... and Juulsen is not even worth mentioning yet

6 months for Julssen and 18 months for Scherbak - that is not 3 years ago.

McCarron is less than 3 years (2.5 years).

So let's totally not exaggerate.

He's benefited from the development of a core of players drafted before his tenure, and hasn't added anything substantial to it. Except Petry.

I'm talking about who he drafted since he arrived. Why are you cherry picking only the first round picks?
