Ya well he's an idiot. He was a journeyman defenceman, I'm sure he didn't have a great IQ to begin with, then his brain cells took a steady dive while he got knocked around for 15 some odd years

Just under 8 1/2 hours 'til L'antichambre... let's see if they make more asinine and out of context comments than those on this board by the end of the afternoon.

Gonna be awesome to see.

well on that point, like we said yesterday, that ship has sailed for this season. there are no trades to make really. the heavy lifting has to be done in the summer. i would imagine that this coming offseason we see a significant shakeup, because assuming they bottom out completely, you have to assume he will be on notice...

Sellers at the deadline. Get picks and prospects for at the very least Gilbert, Weise and Byron.

How do you it seriously, I can't tolerate this mediocrity.

I can deal with it now that I'm playing hockey. I always wanted to play when I was younger and loved the Leafs. (So now that the Leafs suck, I get my hockey fix by playing) They were decent back then with Sundin. Sundin was all class and I was a proud Leafs fan.

I lowered my standards. Now the Leafs just have to "try" and I'm happy

And the Komagod of course

poop or get off the pot. Willing to take all the blame is good I respect that. Except that this team is slumping for 2 months now and he has made AHL trades and done nothing to improve the NHL roster.

And nothing to improve the top 6 for 4 years.

- blarneylad

At least he's responsible with the cap

So I should cheer for "Rocket" Byron?

Well I was ranting.

But I remember reading the average IQ of hockey players was around 90, I'm sure it's changed now, but probably fairly accurate for his time. And impact to the head kills brain cells. So most of it checks out, ya

Ya but he is surrounded by a lot of good hockey guys.

It isn't lack of IQ. It is the fact he isn't willing to put it out there. I'm guessing all his money is tied up in GICs because he has no sack

You really don't want a GM under pressure making trades.

Ya I'm not sure what the brain trust he put together is doing. You've got to think they aren't all proponents of the 4 years of nothing plan.

So many NHL gms are former players and they do just fine... maybe this fan base is too passionate and that's great when they're winning but the flip side is incredible

He wasn't under pressure the last 3 years. Now he is because he has been far to passive.

That's a solid point. But he should have been making moves long before the pressure showed up

And Markov. This might be a crazy idea, but next summer I'd seriously consider trading Carey price, assuming you would get a poop ton for him. If you look around the league, there are quite a few goalies that could come in and do a good enough job. Assuming you get a top line Centre and some other pieces, it would go a long way to helping the lack of goal scoring. Trading low rd picks for 3rd liners isn't going to make a difference.
