How good would one of the finish fowards look on a Stamkos line? - mauryballstein
Boeser a right hand shot in two years. This could be a change everything year. The emergence of the second and third line and cap space, things could be coming together. |

To me if you sign Stamkos you keep the sedins. Rebuild is over and start to add and go all in for the cup. You do waht you can to add Dmen with some of the prospectswe have. - mauryballstein
I feel the same. PP1 with the twins and Stamkos in Vrbata's spot?? |
|
|
|
I heard Freisen was not asked to come up to the Canucks because of his injury not his size. It was Sekeres today reporting that. |

Hamhuis may re-sign cheap but I doubt it. Defense would be our downfall and if Miller is gone I would have questions about goaltending. It would remind me of the Dallas situation or the WCE with Cloutier in goal. |
|
|
|
By making a couple of moves we can move out 20-27 mil next year. Worst case scenario for next year's roster would be
Sedin Sedin Sutter
Sven Bo Hansen
Etem Vey JV
? McCann Dorsett
Edler Tanev
Hutton ?
Sbisa ( Biega)
Pedan ?
Markstrom
?
That's a lot of cash to fill in the blanks |

If miller goes we would have lots of cap space to find a Dman. We need 2 legit top 4 Dman. If we sign Stamkos we may as well go for Buff too or someone similar. I would also try to pull lindholm out of anahiem as they are screaming for forwards and have stacks of young Dmen.
Shink stamkos Pujlarvi/UFA
Sedin sedin Sutter
Sven bo hansen
Etem (4th line whoever center) Dorsett
Tanev Edler
Lindholm Zietsev
Hutton Pedan/Biega
Miller/Markstrom
-McCann plus whatever for Lindholm
-JV goes to Utica
-burrows dealt or bought out
-All pending UFAs and Sbisa traded at deadline for picks no matter what the return |

Imagine if the Canucks somehow luck out and get one of Matthews or one of the Finns. Pretty sure anyone of those three could step into your lineup right away as well.

As long as we deal all of our UFAs we should be in the mix. |

You must really like soggy, salty cornflakes.......
The reality is that Canucks are committed to 54.6 million next year before signing/replacing 10 players.
The cap is currently set at 71.4 million leaving if the cap remains the same (doubtful but easy for the sake of argument) 16.8 million to spend on those 10 contracts.
Those players are Vrbata( or top 6 winger), Hamhuis ( top 4), Prust, Vey, Baertschi, Etem, Cracknell, Barkowski, Weber and Biega.
Those couple of moves you talk about are Miller, Burrows, Higgins I imagine and don't think any will be easy to move or even possible considering they are all overpaid and all have NTC's.
It is always possible to move out all your overpaid players and sign your RFA's and UFA's to great deals but I haven't read or heard anything that actually shows how Van can afford to go after the big UFA's. |

Let's assume of the 3 mil it is expected to go up next season we get 1.5mil. We buy out higgins which saves us almost 2 mill. Vey, Etem get the same money basically. They haven't proven to be worth more, 2 year "show me" deals. Prust/hammer/vrbata don't get resigned, biega small inc, bear 2milx2years, that leaves us A LOT of cap. We sign(dreaming here) Stamkos at 10x8 we still have cap space. If blues haven't moved Shattenkirk by next season we make a deal involving McCann for him, or some other dman. We are looking good still. Then Burrows 4.5mil comes off the books, there is your resign Shattenkirk money, Bo/Hutton get bridge deals(convice them to sign a 1 year contract as then the sedins contracts expire) we are still sitting pretty. |
