The Lehner trade isn't the problem. A bigger concern is they can't score a freaken goal. - sippyd
Lots of goal scorers picked in the 1st round.
Larkin is one |

I seriously hate this team sometimes. They are boring, slow, and lose more than they win. Good grief.
One entertaining game every 5 or 6 games doesn't cut it for me. |

I'm so confused what that is supposed to mean.
YES some 1st round picks are busts. Some GM's are also pretty big busts as well |

Big change from the beginning of the season, that's for sure. Where's that team that was pretty dominating in possession and shots? |

I don't know. When the season started I thought Bylsma had this team ready to play. I thought we would score some goals, play fast, but make a ton of mistakes.
Half the time this looks like a Nolan coached team |

You shouldn't be confused. The confusion results from your insistence that Murrays trades be viewed as negatives.
Otherwise, the simplicity of the post would be obvious. First round picks can be, and often are, overvalued. For every Larkin type scorer hit, there is a Hodgson type scoring bust.
Be honest with yourself, you're not really confused, you're just refusing to let go of the same old argument. |

See, I feel that other people are refusing to see what's in front of there face.
It's unfortunately all unfolding as I thought it would. And it sucks because I root for the 29th place team that can't score.
1 year after having the #1 rated prospect pool and we now have Phil Varone and Cal O'Reilly in the lineup.
One more injury away from Matt Ellis my friend. |

I get it - you wanted to be able to call up the wizardry of Joel Armia, right friend?
EDIT: and if you ask me, the goal is to acquire the best NHL roster in the League, not the best prospect pool. They give the cup to the guys playing in the national league, not the kids in the A and juniors. |

I want to see the Pre season team that scored all those shorthanded goals. They play for a zero to zero tie and get killed in the end. |

Sure. But if Joel Armia isn't an option because he's been traded, I'd like to sometimes score some goals because I moved him and others to do so.
Is that too much to ask? Or is bottom 3 in goal scoring for the 3rd consecutive season acceptable to you? |

So the complaint is that the rebuild isn't happening fast enough? That Murray should have been more aggressive finding scorers for the NHL team this year, and known that Ennis, Moulson, and Girgs would all bottom out? |

Ennis has hope. Girgs is still usefull, but Moulson is a disaster.

Its too early to call gmtm a dummy, especially when he hasnt made a move that has been completely unjustified. And conversely its too early to call him a genius. Just a chill season. |

It's also in part symptomatic of the league in general regarding style of play, which is wait for the other team to make a mistake and don't make one yourself, which is code for BORING.
Check the most recent blog from the Kings writer talking about the Wild game. The irony there is the Kings heavily defensive and often hardly offensive style of play.

Well....one of those 3 isn't too tough to predict.
I just looked him up to see how bad it is....168 games as a Sabre, 28 goals.
11 in 44 GP, 13 in 77 GP, and only 4 in 47 GP this year |

The complaint is we are still very bad. A very bad team with gaping holes, and limited assets to fill them. A top draft pick is 1 thing we have going for us.

just so you boys know, Z is going back down to AHL to make room for Johnson coming back from Injury. Sucks, but it makes sense. Sounds like this was already a pre determined plan as soon as the call up happened
Roy is not going to break up his top 4 of EJ/beauchemin Barrie/Holden and won't play Zads/Bigras as a 3rd pair with one playing their of hand, sucks but number game for the guy at the moment.
He played really well in his call up, he still needs to clean up his some his decision making with the puck, but I am more than excited for the potential of this guy. |

That sucks! I feel for you. But on a good note Lehner trade is not looking bad already and he is far from having his whole game back yet. It is almost like Tim Murray might know something . But that just can't be . It must be being done with mirrors. |
