Anybody got a 4K TV to watch the Leafs and Canadiens tonight? Unfortunately this new technology won't be able to save HNIC. This pregame is brutal. - PetrolSexual
nice to hear, the speed of the Canucks... |

No question. Edler is a #2 guy at best and we need a 1 real bad. That being said, Sbisa has played well his first few games back, it's more team breakdowns at this point. The turnovers in the third were awful and Edler really wasn't the guy coughing up the puck. - neem55
Sbisa poor clearing attempt led to first goal
Vey/Edler screwed up
Miller softies 3/4 goals.
The team had a 10 minute brain cramp. They have also been playing very entertaining hockey. Strong draft I will take whatever happens |

Edler is out against the other teams top lines all the time.... he's going to look bad from time to time. That's the reality when you get those match ups. He'll never be a #1, but he's our best overall d-man IMO

Thought everyone would be in a better mood, even with the loss.
Youth is being served, Horvat and Baertschi look great on that line. The team looks dangerous on the rush. Hutton makes his mistakes, but he always looks like he wants the puck and about to make a play. |

The vey goal was a bad break all around. Edler should have shot it in the corner not try and slap it through the middle. The worse play was the 4-3 goal. I don't care how you spin it, there's no (frank)ing way he should be standing beside another teams player, completely screening you're goalie and not even attempt to push him out. He didn't even stick check the guy ! That's (frank)ing bad defence. Argue that if you can. - Bullfrog77
Fehr is screening the goalie, Edler doesn't clear him out. Great. It was a soft goal. Soft Miller's part, soft on Edler's part. He still played a good game. The game for Edler is 26 minutes long, that is literally the only mistake I saw him make in the entire game. I get you don't like him, but you're straight up delusional with it. He played well, bottom line. If anything you might try to hang it on Miller, but I thought it was more team f-ups than anything. |

Accurate. You can't make a 2-3 a #1, unfortunetly that's what we have to do. |

Hey Vantel, I was out last night and came across a 'seagull'. So I asked about it. It's made by Godin, which is pretty decent brand. So the model is Seagull not the brand. 1st godin acoustic I've ever tried.
It had very decent projection to it. THe fretboard left something to be desired but sound was decent, although not anywhere as crisp as I'd like, but strings may have played a factor in there too. Sometimes its difficult to have it all, esp on I believe you said it was $300 model?
Anyways, its Godin in case you want to find it again, which will be easy, the brand is carried locally. |

You pvr'd the game yes? Go back and watch it again. Edler shot that puck out and bounced it off vey s stick (like usual Edler was blocked) then watch the 4-3 goal where he stands beside his check (completely screening miller) not even making an attempt to clear the pen from the net. Isn't that defence 101? Don't screen you're goalie and don't let the other team stand in front of you're net? You're right plus minus can be flawed...but every night he's at the top of the minus list now isn't he?but sure he had a real good game....for pittsburgh - Bullfrog77
So Bullfrog, can we get rid of Edler, Sbisa and Hamhuis and sign 4 x Bartkowski like players?

Bart is big fast kinda offensive (to the eyes)and cheap. Steady reliable defenceman right. |

I'm sorry Bullfrog, I get it Edler is not perfect but he played well today.
Can you name me a defensemen or 2 that could (carry his jock strap) do the job he does both offensively and defensively at a similar cap hit?
Just please give me a reason not to lol at the Edler hate.
Name some names |

Agree $500 under you really can't beat the Yamahas. Over $1000 for acoustics gets interesting as so many factors to good tone involved. I have a Seagull model 6 here and I prefer the sound of the cheap Yamahas...just a preference.
But years back I finally saved and bought a high end acoustic...what a difference in tone/build quality. I bought a Larrivee Dreadnought for around $3000. Indian Rosewood Back/sides with BC Spruce top and African Cherry neck. Mat finish. Tone is outstanding. |

Yamaha are nice. I was looking at buying an ovation but at the time was more. Impressed with the cheaper Seagull/Godin |

Larrivee are indeed stellar. Jean Larrivee is also a nice guy, treated me excellently back in teh day when his factory was here.
The yamahas are crisper sound wise I think is why. But we both know it mainly comes down to wood choice. I think the playability of the yamahas is actually some of the best out there.
Whats strange is despite the yamaha acoustics being so good and popular the solidbodies sucked bad enough to never ever make them. Acoustics are so much more difficult to make....How then do you make a solidbody that sucks? |

Yamaha is supposed to be coming out with wireless home audio soon. I have been holding off on buying a new surround. Sonos is really good quality but I imagine Yamaha's will destroy it. |

Yeah I think Larrivee left North Van in the early 90's?
Wood choice is obviously the key but the cheap(er) Yamahas have a good formula that works. They really shouldn't sound that decent at that price point and agreed playability is very good. My GF's sister has a cheap Yamaha that sounds and plays better than my older Seagull model 6 and the wood has had a chance to age on the Seagull.
I bought my Larrivee around 2004 and fortunately was in tight with a local music shop owner that did a custom order with Larrivee for me. So after about a year of auditioning and going through a few Takamines and Taylors I decided on Larrivee and they built one with the wood/finish I chose with a few tweaks and electronics installed inside. Been very happy with it over the past ten years and as the wood ages the tone gets better and better.
