I wouldnt do mcann for drouin. We got a guy who immediately can make the lineup and was the team leading scorign for a stretch there to start the season.....vs a guy who in a couple years cant stay in the lineup and has a media circus around him in the hockey oblivious town of tampa. Not a good deal

If hes getting that much attention in the press in tampa itd be a nightmare here.

Because on forward we have 2 Elite players, futer HOFers, who can help shelter the kids. Edler is as close to that(and he's not close) as we have on the back end.

Stamkos is one thing but McCann ain't going anywhere...for either Hamonic or Drouin or the like. I like Hamonic but he is still a 'maybe' player as well as a guy like Drouin. JB moves McCann for a maybe and it backfires it's bye bye time...ain't gonna happen.

Aside from Drew doughty....the LA kings do this , but we are too proud " to sink and get a crack at a top end d man. So like I said. I'd try for balance. 6-8 good dmen. 3-4 older guys 3-4 young guys.

Funny, how do you call Hamonic a "maybe" player when he's already been on the last Olympic team finalist list and already on Canada's early World Cup team list. He's well respected for being an overall very good dman. We need more dman than forwards at his point.

I like Hamonic too but you have to be able to see the intangibles here. He has had 'one' good season...one. Sure he has an injury this year but really he is on pace for Hamhuis like numbers this season. Sorry but you don't move a player with McCanns upside for a dman (while very good) who may or may not ever repeat that one good season. I agree we need Dmen badly but there is too much 'maybe' involved. If you are moving McCann gotta have a sure thing coming back.
