For those reading now The post started as someone wanting to trade mcann for a #1 D under 25. Like there would be a surplus of them.
I didnt think there would be #1 D under 25. People have pointed out there were a few.

So there is maybe a handful in the entire 700 player catalog, which does go to show its rare. So to the original poster, which of those names do you think you'll get for mcann?

You wouldn't get any of the names thrown out there for McCann ...if your trading him for D then it's either for an established top 4 guy or a prospect who might have top pairing potential ...even then it's hard to say if the other team is willing to part with a D prospect with that much promise

Regardless of Stamkos you do not move McCann or Bo. McCann can be moved to the wing if necessary. Too many maybe D men out there too much risk.

You can maybe dangle Shink or Gaunce...

Stamkos will struggle to get 40 goals consistently in the west as well something Benning better think long and hard about before he tosses out 10 mil per for 7 years. Tighter checking and and a bigger heavier game out here.

MY comment was not for a number 1 it was for the best possible dman on the market and if we had to trade McCann plus whatever to get it done then do it. That was also if we got stamkos. In any event our Dmen are brutal and it needs to be addressed.
