Homie, what you think of the brother man Kane? Seems he's still not playing up to his potential? - B2B76
3 out of ten games he shows up
my honest assessment is
he is a second line player on a decent team
problem is in the short term, the sabres need him to be a first line player, which he is not |

Got ya, seems WHEN he brings it he's a upper echelon player, but those games are few & far between. |

Thought I heard he is leading the Sabres in SOG. Remember when he demanded a trade last year? Be careful for what you wish for, although he will be an important part of that team in the future. |

Etem, Hagelin, Duclair, Stempniak are all going to be in action in the NHL tonight. I am on stand by to freak out if any of them score. |

Couple of thoughts from last night. Loved the board work. Spefically by Miller. He worked hard. Thought Stalberg, Mcilrath and the Brassard line all had good night. Lundqvist made a couple of key save late and was his usual self.
The negatives. Kevin Klein, woof. He had his worst game as a Ranger. On the 2nd goal agaisnt Mar Staal does everything that is legally possible to defend Eichel. Eichel uses his foot to pass to Girgensens. Great play by Eichel. Nothing Staal can do. Klein, Kreider and Stepan all look at Girgensens as he backs off for space and roofs it past Lundqvist. C'mon. On the 3rd Klein starts to pinch and realizes that he's screwed so he starts to retreat. He then falls and leaves Staal holding the leaky bag. Staal doesn't do much as he he's trying to defend because he doesn't have the speed to.
This team has such fragile will when they make a defensive mistake. It's very odd |

in all seriousness about Stralman, because I'll discuss him with you because you aren't nuts, in the 2013-14 season, Stralman had one goal in 106 total games. ONE.
Arguably, in the finals against the Kings, the worst part of the Rangers game was the powerplay. You can definitely make that argument.
They thought Dan Boyle was the answer to the powerplay woes, right handed shot, great friends with MSL. All these were factors in making that decision.
Obviously it was wrong, and who the heck knew that Stralman would find this offense he has found with the Lightning. But you do have to try and put yourself into what they were thinking at the time.
The awful powerplay in the finals vs the Kings is the biggest reason Dan Boyle was signed. |

Spot on. Stralman was solid defensively, as were the other 5, so we needed the QB. Can't fault signing Boyle and Yandle to take up that mantle. In hindsight... |

How bad was Stralman when the Devils gave him a PTO and cut him? Rangers made some hay out of that, but he was never thought of as a defenseman with any offense to his game. |

I understand why they did it. But the signs were there when Boyle signed that he was deteriorating. Nobody, not even myself though Stralman would put these offensive numbers up. But look at Staal. Look at him when he a Stralman were a pair and look at him now. Doesn't look like the same player at all.
I just think you pay a little more for player that's 28 over a player that's 38. |

Boyle was the big name, Stralman wasn't, bad evaluation of importance to the defense
So what Stralman scored 1 goal, he was also a (frank)ing catalyst, it's OK for Girardi to not be offensive but Stralman gets it held against him? I know we all have our favorites and I've defended Girardi for playing his position but come on, I hated that decision July 1st 2014 and I hate it even more today but that's Glen Sather, addict for the big name |
