A name nobody has mentioned is PA Parenteau. Not saying I want him. But he most definitely will be moved by Toronto has a pretty low cap hit and is a RH shot.

completely under the radar and not mentioned anywhere is that Raphael Diaz is finally healthy again and played his first game with the Pack sunday night and was a +2.

If he gets himself into shape, he is another option to call up if they do end up trading Yandle, and Skjei and Graves have really been playing well lately too

MSL would be my number 1 choice too, but I haven't heard one rumor at all that he's skating or considering a comeback, there has been absolutely no word at all even to remotely get my hopes up about it
- jimbro83

He's been skating with the mites so no one knows it's him

Diaz is a nice seventh if they wind up moving Boyle before, or at, the deadline.

Anyone the Pens get suddenly becomes fantastic until reality sets in.

Bet that group is head over heels for Hagelin now.

Dan Boyle has a NMC

Do you think he'd waive it? Honest question.

He's softer than Versteeg, so that's a no. But he's cheap.

Yes if he were to get sent to a better cup contending team or closer to his hometown. Otherwise, no I don't think he would.

Parenteau has a little more bite to his game than you'd think. Not saying he's a big tough guy, but he plays with a bit of an edge sometimes.

Fair enough. I could maybe see the Blackhawks having an interest in him as depth.

The Rangers would have eat some salary. Woudln't matter much given Boyle is off everyone's book at the end of the year.

I really think Boyle has decided this is his last year and will retire as a Ranger.

I don't think there's a chance he is traded, but, there should definitely be more scratches so McIlrath plays more regularly.

That's my motivation in wanting to see him dealt. Girardi and Klein are not going anywhere this season but McIlrath needs to play every game.

McIlrath looked like Bobby Orr on his goal last night. What a sight to see.

If you deal Boyle and Yandle during the same season, doesn't that severely limit your power play and puck moving options? Regardless of the problems with these players, I cannot see the Rangers trading both and not experiencing a significant drop-off in those areas.

This is true, I guess with the high possibility of Yandle being traded before Feb. 29th, McIlrath will likely be in the lineup daily after this occurs.

Great goal but I'll assume you didn't see too many Bobby Orr highlights in your time on earth.

They may have to eat something, especially with the Hawks, but it still gets prorated.

Trade deadline is 2/29 and last day of the season is 4/9

There's 185 days in the season.

So take Boyle's cap hit, $4.5M, and divide it by the total amount of days in the season, 185

He costs $24,324.32 on the cap daily. Multiply that over the remaining 40 days of the season between the trade deadline and the final day and, with no salary retained, he would cost his new team $972,972.80 on the cap for the remainder of the year, after which is contract expires anyway.
