Depends if you'd consider Paul Stastny, Ryan Suter, and/or Zach Parise superstars.

Right and I would give up Voracek and sweeten the pot for Stamkos in a heartbeat.

Why can't I?

If you have a Provorov and Gostisbehere and say Morin on ELC. Laughton on ELC. Fill in some bottom 6 with cheaper players with some of your youth, you can make it work.

Also as years go one you the cap should move up each year. I would move mason since he is UFA after next season instead of giving him a raise. I would look to sign Neuvirth to a cheaper 3 year deal.

Umberger will be gone, Streit gone.

For me I can see how I would plan for it to work.

- J35Bacher

Still don't why people want to toss Mason away for a guy who's played (admittedly) remarkably well for 3 months. Mason was the first sign of a truly stable #1 goalie we've had in 13 years and people are ready to ditch him for a guy who's on the hottest streak of his life. I'm not saying Neuvirth can't be a good #1, but can we give him a full year before starting another goalie swap?

I agree on the mason stuff. Neuvirth has been great, but Mason has shown he can be a solid number 1 goalie over a long period of time.

The big thing to keep in mind, imo, is just because we are on a long road to build a team through the draft, doesn't mean it cannot be accelerated by trade or FA. It's all about what you have to give to get. The Flyers are quickly putting themselves in a position where they will have a lot of assets to move for help today. Not every one of these guys are going to make it to the Flyers. Some because of talent and some because they will be used for immediate upgrade. It's about balance. If they can get a guy like Stamkos or anyone else for that matter that helps today and tomorrow and still have talent left over in the prospect pool, then great!
- funmaster18

I hear you but the responses are the same. This idea that the Flyers make mistakes. Giroux is the biggest star out there and he's as good as all the stars. I throw out the question and you'd think I was offering the organzation for Stamkos. This idea he'll make it to Free Agency, I don't think is 50/50.

Stamkos isn't on a downword trend. If he is, so is Giroux. Stamkos turns 26 in two weeks. Giroux turned 28 two weeks ago. I'll ask again who Stamkos plays with that puts him over the top that way Giroux does. This isn't to say Tampa isn't a good team but Giroux and Voracek are pretty much a duo. They very much struggled apart this year.
- SuperSchennBros

He is downward trending. It's not even debatable. So is Giroux, surely, and yet the older Giroux and younger Stammer are still on par with each other. Giroux also is more versatile. I already said I might swap them 1 for 1. Not for more money and not for the king's ransom a trade would entail. It'd be gaining a similar player while losing other players.

Giroux and Jake have spent half of the season apart. Jake played with PEB and VDV for much of it. Giroux with the oft maligned Raffl. If Stamkos is so linemate dependent, then why is he so much more elite?

Do you know who Stamkos plays with?

Also Giroux is versatile but he also realistically shouldn't be killing penalties. He has to. This is all because we bring in randoms and hope for the best, like a Raffl, Bellemare or Vandevelde.

It's not so much graded as that your points come across as hard to decipher.

I asked you if you thought that any/all of Stastny, Suter, or Parise were superstars and your reply was, "How Stastney No." I had no idea what you were trying to say.

So, yes, it does matter to check what you write so people can understand you.

So, I'm assuming you mean that you don't think that Paul Stastny was a superstar.
What about Ryan Suter and Zach Parise?
