and I don't disagree with that thinking at all and I am not proposing inserting 2 lines of kids. However, I am suggesting trying to insert a young player in for a player or two who have not been effective and who do nothing in said playoff push.

Have to ask a few questions. What role is that young player going to play, and how much ice time will he get. Will he be relegated to the bench late in games when the score is tight? Bring him up when you can commit to playing them. That time is not now.

Like, to me there are only 5 Elite Quarterbacks in the NFL. Since there are more centers in the game of hockey, I go with 10, which I do believe Giroux to be an elite center. Okay, you are pointing out Stastney was a UFA in 2014, which I do not believe him to be a superstar. This is all correct.

So you are fine with Giroux killing penalties? Because I'm not. I like that Giroux can kill penalties but I want our supporting cast doing this, while G uses his energy in offensive situations, especially because we lack offensively.

Not only am i fine with this, but I think it's the proper thing to do. You don't want your best player playing in all situations? I sure do. it's not like this is new territory to him, after all he has been playing in that same role since 2010.
