Gerbe.....
If we pick 2nd, do u have a preference?
Seems to me like Puljujarve is slick & smart (Zetterberg-ish?)... NHL ready
Laine looks like he might have a higher upside though.
All kinds of raw talent where he could develop into a heck of a power forward. Kinda reminds me of Barkov like that, but more powerful skater. - jdfitz77
Both of Finland players could be the first overall pick the way that they both dominated and made the World Juniors their playground as rookies is absolutely insane and I have nothing against Connor McDavid or jack but not even those 2 could.put up those numbers
laine reminds me of a better polished Kovalchuk
Jesse Puljujärvi Scouts have been calling him the next Selanne all year.. that's incredible if that happens. is more better Zach Parise to me
It's too close to call for me I'll be happy with either 3

I wouldn't be upset with any of them either
I'm still enamoured with Matthews though
Think about this next year with Jack passing him the puck - gerbe75pts
That was a nice shot, but goddamn, they can't even leave the net without advertisements? I'm telling you ads are a slippery slope. It starts with "a tasteful, small ad on the shoulder" to that in the video. Absurd.

So Dennis Wideman cross checked an official last night "On Accident"
What say you?
- ImThatGuy
His head is forward looking at the ref, he extends his arms up and then pushes them outward to maximize force on the check. He then goes to the bench never looking back as if trying to quickly hide after the dirty thing he just done. I think he's going to be suspended for an awfully long time.

According to Calgary fans, his head was down the entire time and didn't see the official until last second, he then tried to jump out of the way but couldn't, so he hit the official on accident. no suspension needed.

Looks to me like he sees "somebody" at the last minute and pops that person without knowing - or caring - who it is.
The hit is not an accident. The hit "on a linesman" is. I'd sit him one game to reinforce the need to stay alert around the neutrals.

I hear that defense, and then I watch the video and his head is up the entire time, contrary to what he said.
There is no way he did not see him. As for being "Groggy" he slams his stick on the ice in disgust.
He then skates slowly back towards the bench, if he truly does not he the official, he would not raise his stick up and go full force on someone. His instinct would be to pull back not lunge forward.

Are you implying that those two are better than McDavid or Eichel?

Having only read various scouting reports and recaps of WJCs, I'm pulling for Laine...some of which is due to his size...6'4".
That shot looked a lot like Backes to Ovi!
Hopefully the kid has some serious wheels to keep up with Jack. And I do think Rasmus would be a perfect fit as a complimentary player.
I wouldn't mind seeing Ennis given a shot either....if he is still here next year.
