I think I'll definitely utilize that route. What I do now is set a waypoint for Williamsburg, PA and then from there to Buffalo (mostly just because I liked that drive, hwy 15 is decent and moves nicely through PA) |

Easy to say that 2 years later. I agree with you he looks good but at the time we had depth on D and got an alright return for an AHL D |

Probably, but that trade was a guy that was seen as buried. It turned out to be that had we kept him a spot would have opened. Hindsight is 20/20, but at the time it's not an end of the world trade. We still lost it, no question. Especially with us giving up picks as well. But that trade is already way in the back of my mind |

I'd agree had the picks not gone their way too. We lost the trade, but like you said, for us he was an AHL defenseman so we wanted to get what we could for him. |

He's an idea. Replace Mike Weber with Roman Polak either during the deadline indirectly (Weber to team x, pick to TO for Polak) or sign in offseason. He's a fantastic bottom pair guy and prevents many more shot attempts than Weber. |

Agree the picks are the loss, but i remember an interview with TM when he first started and he said he promised the players if they get pass on the depth chart he'll try to give them a new opportunity. McNabb said TM kept is word. |

Not fair to say we lost a trade until all players in deal have showed their abilities, or lack there of in the NHL. McNabb is a big part of their defense, sure. He's being used as a #2, but his analytics combined with playing with one of the most sound defensemen in the entire league suggest he's more or less a top 4. That's not anything to scoff at. But Nic Deslauriers has been a nice compliment to our 4th line and will be for what I assume will be several years. Hudson Fasching, in which the trade was centered around, already has the raw NHL ability. Strength, size and speed. He's fantastic in the crease where most of his points are derived from. His consistency has become very solid, leading UM in points. His skating has vastly improved and he consistently works his tail off.
Where that pair of LA second rounders are or will be is a good question. But for now, I'd like to see Fasching vs McNabb, who becomes more valuable to their club? |

NVIDIA was giving out free BETAs, but looked like they just got shut down. Luckily got mine. They aren't giving anymore out for pre-order so hopefully you still get one. Game looks sick, can't wait to play tomorrow on PS4. Been watching gameplay on twitch all morning. |

Good point. I'll say this, at the current moment they have more production with the pieces they received in the trade than we have. That could change in the future with the addition of Fasching. |

I listened to Howard Stern on the radio yesterday for the first time in at least 15 years. Bad news - his show is basically exactly the same stuff he was doing 15 years ago.
Good news - I still found myself laughing every 10 minutes or so.
CONCLUSION: Kaiser is still a sophomoric chump. |

I was about to waste my time, but it isn't even worth it. I'll let you live in your fantasy. - SabresPanacea
Yet you still wasted it by responding.
Not sure what my fantasy is. That we lost the trade? That McNabb was in the AHL at the point of the trade? That it looked like Zadorov, Risto, McCabe, and Pysyk were seen as better future pieces? Really, I'm not sure because I don't know what I'm pretending didn't happen.
If I could go back I wouldn't do the trade. But, unfortunately, that was forever ago so I've moved on. And now I'm hoping it works out for us. |

My friend has lived in Richmond for over 5 years now. He comes home probably 6 times a year it seems, so he's got the best route scoped out at this point. The DC one isn't bad, so long as you're not trying to drive through there during peak hours. This route makes it so it doesn't matter what time you go though. |

Tavares has 34 points, Jack has 30.
I'll tell you what, I don't follow the Islanders but that seems really low for him. Maybe they need a player like Moulson back to get that spark |

Just saw on Twitter that Ovechkin and Towes are suspended for skipping the All Star Game. If that's true then it's really another nail in that coffin. Make it an Alumni game. Fans can vote alumni players that represent the team. I'd rather watch that and it gives the players a rest. - Zschalberg
I totally understand that this players would rather rest than play in the game. But, the NHL is a platform that allows Towes and Ovi to earn 10 million dollar a year salaries. The all star game, although boring as heck to adults, is a great gimmick that gets youth interested in the sport. Sometimes in life your employer will ask or tell you that you need to volunteer for things you just don't want to do, but it's part of the job. This is no different, Towes and Ovi need to get their butts to work if they're not really injured.

The 4 Canadian Western Conference teams are 11th-14th in the conference. If the season ended today there would be no Canadian team in the playoffs. Montreal and Ottawa are the closest to Wild Card spots (3 points behind). |

Sure. Unless it's a pure hockey deal, NHL player for NHL player, it's extremely hard to properly judge a trade immediately. You could just as easily say we dominated the ROR trade.
I don't see Grigorenko working out as an NHL forward (I was rooting for him all the way until the trade) but Zadorov is likely tracking to become a top 2 or at very least top 4 dman in the future if his mental issues are resolved.
At the moment, yep, we're losing. But just the fact that it's possible for that judgement to flip based on the main piece not even entering professional hockey yet is encouraging. |
