Edler and Tanev are both decent , nothing spectacular but decent. There is not a huge drop off between Tanev and Petry.

Beaulieu is also an upgrade over Bartowski

DSP is also an up grade over Subban

And the first round pick could also be used to find a top 4 Dman. Shink may never even play again on the Canucks . Etem just took his spot ( maybe)

I don't mind some of the guys in the proposed deal, but Petry is not one of them. I've made my case for why he is a liability, i think his career stats speak for themselves. Giving up Sbisa and Tanev in a trade for a bad defenseman and a good d-prospect would be a step back IMO. tanev and Sbisa are both younger and have more upside than Petry.

Vatanen would be a great add he is small but he has loads of offense. Players of this age that have proven they can play is what we need to target on D if we hope for a very quick turn around,

Calgary commentators were making all kinds of excuses for him...video is pretty clear. He skates along sees the linesman. Stick comes up and he feeds it too him. Be very surprised he doesn't get 10 games for abuse of official. But this is the nhl. They don't protect the players...so why protect the officials right ?
