Calgary commentators were making all kinds of excuses for him...video is pretty clear. He skates along sees the linesman. Stick comes up and he feeds it too him. Be very surprised he doesn't get 10 games for abuse of official. But this is the nhl. They don't protect the players...so why protect the officials right ? - Bullfrog77
I guess I don't think there will be a suspension cause I was so surprised they didn't call a penalty. |

It's a stupid stat last night Sedin had two bad changes that led directly to a goal . Sedin gets no minus, the people skating on the ice get affected - VANTEL
Yeah Sedin has been Franking Horvat A LOT lately with these bad changes.
Bo Horvat is the league worst in plus minus, but I don't think he should be if you look further into the stats.

The guy is having a tough year, being assigned to defend against the top line of every team without much in the way of help on his wings is tough. It's a tgrowing season for Bo, bit of trail by fire. |

Yeah, I'm impressed he seems to take how rough its been in stride and is finding his game again. He's going to be a big piece, natural leader. |

It's in Botchfords Provies, he said a lot about the Canuck players doing the same things over and over....mistakes. To me that's lack of accountability from the coaching staff.

Vatanen would be a great add he is small but he has loads of offense. Players of this age that have proven they can play is what we need to target on D if we hope for a very quick turn around, - mauryballstein

Interesting about Rodin. Where would he play? Is it going to be an all Swede first line? Doesn't hurt to take a look at the kid I guess. |
|
|

Good for Hansen to point out the mistakes. Yes Lefty, some of that falls on the coach but some falls on on the player. The three players with glaring line changes that have cost us games have been Hank Danny and Edler. These are not rookie mistakes , it is vets being to casual and staying out too long. |

I heard he just sustained a season ending injury.
Shoulder again i believe?
Oh nvm: " that came to an abrupt halt last week as Anton Rodin suffered a skate cut near his knee and is out of action for the next 8-10 weeks"

It said it could be 6-8 weeks in the article, but I think they projected him for next year anyways. |

Yeahhhhh, i dunno.
He's now 25 and this would constitute his second kick at the N.A can after he flamed out the first time.
Small and injury prone, not sure he's got the body for the smaller ice. Guy's the same size as Subban without the skating ability.
Might as well give Shink a look first, atleast he's demonstrating the ability to play here.
Not sure which league would be considered more competitive, the AHL or SHL. Personally, I'd assume the AHL is a harder, more comparative (NHL) league to play in. |

I know I am not expecting much. He plays RW I don't see him replacing Hansen JV or Dorsett so that leaves one spot and I hope we fill in that spot with our first pick this year. Boeser is also RW.
I am in the wait and see mode. |

JB needs to prioritize the plan to upgrade the D. Don't matter which forward line combination or wish list forwards are mixed around, if the D still is in flux then we get the Vancouver Oilers for a bunch of years - watching young guns skate like hell and lose a bunch.... |

We don't need an upgrade on D , we have Tanev the second coming of Bobby Orr |

" On a more granular level, Montreal-based statistics tracking firm Sportlogiq tracks personal puck possession rates. Hutton leads all Canucks defenders by this category, and is in the top-45 among all NHL blue-liners. He’s also the club-house leader by possession-driving plays – a category that takes into account everything from successful stretch and outlet passes to controlled zone entries – and rates in the top-30 among regular NHL defencemen" |

We don't need an upgrade on D, we have Tanev and Edler, the equivalent of Orr and Lidstrom.
By the time Edler is finished his career he will have been the hands down best defensemen out team has ever had. .... says something about the history of our team but still |

I think next year Hutton will be stealing a bit of Edlers PP time

Just reading Hansens comments on the Canucks lack of discipline or give-a-(frank) factor on line changes and the apparent lack of accountability from the coaching staff.
Willie Desjardins - LeftCoaster
You don't think the coaching staff have mentioned this to the players? That's a player issue when it comes to effort that maybe the coaches have tried to but just can't seem to fix. How do you hang Edlers lack of discipline and line changes on WD? Sedins brain fart line changes?
Highly doubt Hansen is calling out the coaching staff considering the freedom he has this season. Hansen 'kind of' called out the players but don't read too much into it. |

I think Hansen was pointing the finger at the players 100%.
He would be stupid to call out the coaches if he wanted to play a regular shift.
He endured a year of Torts without saying a thing. That quip was aimed at the vets. |

Take it for what its worth, and this may have been discussed earlier but I am too lazy to look it up, but Dreger is reporting Canucks have interest in obtaining Ladd. Less of an extent as say the Florida Panthers but Benning remains interested. |

This is what you get when you keep a stale core together for too long. Sure Coaching has to have influence but if you keep the same players together year after year after year in an allowed country club atmosphere they will repeat and repeat and repeat the same crap over and over and over again. |
