That "World Cup" they have planned is going to be an even bigger joke.

THIS was the story the NHL COULD have had had they not tried to bully Scott into not
playing.
Instead, the league and Bettman look (somehow) even worse than they already are and Scott has garnered more sympathy from folks than ever.
Who the (frank) is Gary Bettman's PR advisor? That bumhole should be on the (frank)ing bread line yesterday. |

Bettman's worst nightmare.
This whole thing has gotten stupid. Suspending Toews and Ovechkin is the icing |

Did you read the one by Abdelkader? He wrote a term paper on hockey analytics:
I only had a short window to let the Red Wings know my decision....
But when I called my mom to talk about my decision, she had one condition: “Promise me that you will finish your degree,” she said.
It has taken me six years, but I completed my bachelor’s degree in Business Management this summer. I won’t lie to you, it was pretty difficult to stay motivated — especially writing those term papers. But I found a way to make it relevant to my current career. My last assignment was a 22-page research paper on the emergence of advanced analytics in hockey, which was really interesting, because I was able to use statistics to prove some of my gut reactions about the players I go up against in real life. I used metrics like High Danger Zone Scoring Chance and CORSI Differential to get a deeper look at some of my NHL colleagues.

So, how are Abdelkader's advanced numbers? I wonder if this informs him on his own play at all. |

Gostisbehere is obviously a dynamic player, who's made some big plays this season. Last night though, despite the one mistake he made, may have been his most impressive game yet. He saw significant icetime against the Caps top lines and top players, and really played well. - MJL
I totally agree.. Honestly, I dont even think it was all that close. Offense is his strong suit, but when you see him play that well defensively... it literally makes me giddy.
He has the ability (and has shown it over and over again over the past month) to literally shut down a play at its root. Jumping up and reading plays. Quick stick work. Sound positioning. Kid really looked great last night. He is going to have some gaffes, but thats the high risk nature of the high reward players. |

That's a shame. He's no longer qualified to for any NHL management job after his playing career ends |

Twitter saying its a sonic boom - PhillySportsGuy
Odd though, a friend of mine in Medford felt them around the same time. Thats pretty far inland for a sonic boom.
I'm going with:
A. Godzilla
B. Cthulhu
C. Alien invasion
D. The angry hand of God
Or
E. Chris Christie fell off a ladder |

I have an engineering degree, but I was able to spend 6 hours a day sitting at a desk doing work on a computer. I can't imagine having to play sports and travel across the country while doing it.
Also, the part that made me saddest was that his daughter doesn't get to do the coyote howl any more because Gary didn't want him playing a meaningless game. |

Gostisbehere has that same kind of hockey sense that Couturier has. He has such a knack for shutting down a play, before they can take advantage of his size, and his weakness. It kind of minimizes that disadvantage he has. I always though he was going to be a very good player with the puck, but he's better without it than I thought he would be, |

Ghost is a beast at disrupting the opposing rush in the neutral zone. and he has the speed to get back if he (frank)s up. can't wait to see him develop in front of our eyes |

His anticipation is off the charts. He plays defense by using his strength: not having to play defense. If he can regain control of the puck using his anticipation, he doesn't have to muck and grind in the corners. It's, honestly, (frank)ing amazing. I mean, really, I don't think I've ever seen a defenseman quite like him. |

Options:
1. Sing it naked
2. Just stand there and salute the flag the whole time
3. Sing it while doing Shaun Hill dance moves.
4. Just start singing "Mmm Bop."
5. Say the Pledge of Allegiance. |

Justice must be served!!
The fans want him in. The players want him in. He wants to be in.
NHL tells him not to play. Brilliant marketing strategy for the league. |
