Since joining the Flyers, Jake Voracek is tied with Jonathan Toews & Daniel Sedin in points, good for 19th in the NHL in that span. If you have a 5 year stretch where only 18 guys in the league score more points than you, congrats, you're elite. - Jsaquella
what if there are only 20 guys in the whole league? |

Then having 3 guys tied for 19th would be impossible, wouldn't it? |

The whole situation is so franked and makes the NHL look like a complete clown show.
Wideman deserves the benefit of the doubt in my opinion. He was clearly concussed, and has no prior history of such behavior. Calgary's medical staff should be hung out to dry for letting him back into the game while the NHL should see some heat as their concussion protocol is clearly a joke.
To add fuel to the fire, Henderson finished the game yet had to go to the hospital after the game ended for neck pain/nausea where he was held until 5am today. What. The. (frank) - JFlyers00
problem is wideman didn't say he was dazed and concussed from the hit and didn't know what he was doing. He said it was an accident. the clown show is Wideman and his accident defense. I could have bought in if he said he wasn't himself from the hit |

An all star game with scouts in attendance. It's not exactly a playoff game, but it isn't an NHL free skate all star game either. The kids try. Is the Senior Bowl just an all star game? |

Yes they do try because they want to impress, in past years they have even had some fights.
Prefer them in their own leagues to get a better gauge on them |

Watching a real game with a player is infinitely better -- I agree. I doubt scouts put any real stock in it. But given that they do try, and it's going to be televised on NHL network, it should be fun to see the kids whose names we hear aplenty all on the ice together. Now if only John Scott could be in it.... |

Benning called the game a flame lighter and said it often influences scouting schedules for the remainder of the junior season. |

It will be a good game but at this point if teams haven't started moving scouts around to cover some players more or stop covering others I am not sure what they are doing.

My thoughts exactly. They should have a firm grasp on these players and have watched them a ton already. There is always more to learn going into the most important stretch, but what the heck were they doing all season so far if this game influences them so much? I'd be questioning the quality of my scouts |

He is someone who might -- completely unknown where he will go. But I should hope his last two seasons of work influence my scouts more than this. |

They should be covering him anyway, even though his stock has dropped over the last year. I think he'll be a good pick in late round 1 or as late as mid 2nd right now.

And don't get me wrong I enjoy the game but they've known many of these kids since they were drafted into their respective CHL leagues, they aren't "unknown" to them, but again it can shift them to covering a player a bit more.
And with all the picks we currently have that's not a bad thing. |

Who said it influences them all that much? Benning said it can spark a little more interest if they show up and have a good game with skilled players. Don't be so judgy. Jeez... |

This is exactly what he said.
What the hell with the over reaction to a simple statement by a gm at the game? All of a sudden their scouts are inept. |
