It is dumb, but I guess their logic is: if you're too injured to play in the game, then clearly you're too injured to play a couple days later. Of course it's really just punitive, and plenty of guys plays actual games through nagging injuries

Last night the topic of Jurassic World came up at work. I am a huge Jurassic Park fan but I connot get on board with Jurassic World. I thought it sucked! I like Jake Voracek a lot but I thought Jurassic World stunk! I thought it had plot holes you could drive a semi truck through. A coworker caught wind of this and argued to no end that I just didn't understand the series. For me, what is there to understand? Park gets built, something goes wrong, Dinosaurs get free, people try to escape the island.

The point I'm trying to make is, this kid's reaction is the reaction I get on here in a nutshell. Why do you guys care what I say so much? Elite means best of the best. The best of the best normally play center but if I had to put together 5 lines of the best in the league, regardless of if we check the stats from the last 4 seasons or the start of Jake's career, Jake wouldn't be on these lines. Jake has much within his career I'd like to see do better, starting with scoring.

Now prepare to lose sleep and judge my grammar, gentlemen.

I made a joke about Jake being better than Forsberg bc earlier you and a couple other people were talking about that very same thing. It was light hearted and innocuous, and poking fun of the fact you kept saying a poster said Jake was as good as Foppa...when he did not. It was a joke.

As for me being "tough," you're kidding right? I make no claims to be tough, nor do I masquerade as such. I vascillate between sarcasm, gifs, nonsense and honest to goodness hockey discussions about the Flyers, advanced stats, prospects, etc.. I have two settings: goofy and earnest. Tough is not one of them. I highly doubt anyone else finds me playing the John Scott role around here. Listen, SSB, you get into it with a LOT of people here. You call them playground names when you disagree and you always misinterpret what others are saying, even when they correct you. Given how often you fight with posters here, perhaps the issue is not with myself and other posters....

Look at the names above? Justin Williams? I love Justin Williams. What Williams does in the playoffs is nothing short of outstanding. He also has Cups but Cups aside, was Danny Briere ever a true elite player? Rings are a factor. Results are a factor. Carrying a team should also be a factor. We're splitting adams here.

When I say Jake isn't elite, you all assume that I'm saying Jake sucks. When I disagree with the organzation or when I lay out criticism, it's assumed that I think the Flyers suck. This is a problem among those who assume this. I wouldn't be a fan if I truly believed this.

Yeah, being in the top 20 scorers in the entire league, over a stretch of 5 plus years makes a guy an elite player, by any rational person's standards.
