Why are you specifically choosing 2012 to prove your point? Why not compare careers to date? Why is it just points?? |

Is Jake Voracek a future hall of famer? - SuperSchennBros

I'll simplify. Elite Wingers can score and are normally lite out every year. Elite players are likely to see the Hall of Fame. Is Jake going to get into the Hall of Fame? - SuperSchennBros
If he continues his career like he has been then he will be, yes. Jake can score...what the hell does lite out even mean?
Do you even watch these other guys play or do you just look at video game ratings and goal highlights? Just singling out Nash here, even though I do think he is good. He has been over 0.9 ppg just like 3 times throught his career. Only 1 70+ pt season and 0 80 pt seasons |

Only if he renounces Kladno as his hometown and starts telling people he's from Cherry Hill. |

Because guys have been in the league longer than others.. So I figured 4 years was a large enough statistical threshold.
But if you want, I will happily stretch that back to 1997.

Well how convenient that you don't know the answer to something without googling it. This is called the story of my life.
The problem is, when I say Jake isn't elite or hand criticism to the organzation, you guys assume I'm saying Jake suck and the Flyers suck! Who am I? 2real who basically says the Flyers suck and the Sharks are great daily. Voracek is a really, really good player but he's not lite out every year and he's not a future hall of famer. I don't believe him to be elite but I take him for what he is. Nothing more, nothing else.
Believe or not, Jake struggled quite a bit last night prior to his first goal. |

Voracek wasn't elite between the ages of 18 and 22. Since his 23 year old season he has been, both in scoring and in puck possession. |

It is a forum about hockey and specifically the flyers...why do you expect to say certain things without reaction from other people?
I dont care one way or the other if you consider him elite, but while we are on the subject I am going to ask who you do consider elite....when you follow up with that list though...I think it is clear he is elite. |

Yeah, he's been playing at an elite level for four seasons now. I'm not sure why you need the most basic concepts explained to you all the time, but points are what you get by adding goals and assists. He has 225 of them in his last 259 games. |

I dont know the answer to the question because the question is impossible to answer.
Q:Will Jake be a Hall of Famer?
A: I have no clue.
Better question:
Q:Could Jake end up being a Hall of Fame player?
A: Sure, he could. But he could also break his neck tomorrow and never play again.

LOL. Am I being too mean? I asked if you watched other hockey games besides the Flyers dude...
Can Jake score 30 goals? I dont know, he hasn't yet and may never. But if he is scoring 70-80 points then should I really care if he scores 30? nope, not at all.
elite player and elite goal scorer are not the same thing |

Giroux leads the league in scoring this decade without ever having hit 30 goals.

Now you're struggling with the concept that some players don't hit their peak till their early 20's or later? Ever heard of the Sedins? |

What do you mean by traditional 4th line and being asked to play 3rd line? Traditional 4th line to me is go out for like 6-8 minutes a night and hit people for "energy" and other stuff that barely resemble hockey against another teams 4th line usually.
Since it is not the way it works anymore, the Flyers need a 4th line that can either score or can defend. The PEB, White, VV line dont really do either. They can forecheck and keep the puck in the offensive zone occasionally, but most often get throttled in possession. I dont have a problem with any of the 3 guys individually, but putting them out to defend other teams best offensive lines often leads to subpar results....which to me is the actual problem with them - YuenglingJagr
For me I would rather have a 4th line with guys who can kill penalties and provide speed and grit with some offense.
I am really liking Cole Bardreau on the Phantoms. I see him as a nice 4th line player. Has skating and skill and kills penalties. Also Goulborne is a gritty player with speed and can kill penalties. I liked the model Dallas used one year where they had Garbut, Fiddler and I forget the other winger. But they were fast and physical and would chip in some offense.
I know people like Giroux killing penalties but if I can limit some of those minutes I would like too. By saving some of those minutes maybe then I can extend him on the PP for a little more. Where his skills are really needed. |

If I may answer...
What does scoring 30 goals have to do with anything?
My favorite player in the history of the league is a hall of famer.
He played in parts of 14 seasons. He had one 30 goal season. His first full year.
His name is Peter Forsberg.
There is this other guy.. he put up over 1400 points in his hall of fame career, and he only cracked 30 goals twice.
His name is Adam Oates.
Then there is this guy. He scored 56 goals in one season. 37 in another.
His name is Jonathon Cheechoo. |

And like I've said from the start, Jake being elite is debatable. I don't believe him to be elite but that's me. Being 11th isn't top 10, now is it? Is hea future fall of famer? Is he on top of the leader boards every year in points? Can he score 30 or more yearly? I mean, you googled and collected what he's done for the past 4 seasons and piled it together to make your point. What about yearly? What about right now? |

Jake Voracek hasn't cracked 30...at all! Are we comparing Voracek to Oates now because Adam Oates is a hall of famer. Peter Forsberg was also not a healthy player. |

Thanks Bill. We escaped with a win, nice. I wish the forwards would shoot the puck more. They seemed to be more interested in playing hot potato with the puck, and risking turnovers, or exiting the zone without the shot. In addition, why pass to a player that has little chance of doing something with the puck? As the "Great One's" Dad told him, "Just shoot the puck, would yah? (not his exact words, but you get the idea). It's kind of funny to see G pass to Gudas to take the shot; I just pull one of my hairs left on my head out when he does that. Gudas may have a powerful shot, but damn that guy has no accuracy...lol. I wonder if Gudas leads the team with shot attempts? |
