I would like some help please. It's Friday, end of the week, of course. Work isn't that bad, but isn't that good. My buddies are pretty tied up tonight.
My wife and my daughter are going out together, and my son is camping with some of his pals.
With nothing better to do, I'll just sit home and drink by myself. But I'm not celebrating anything. I don't have a headache. I'm not frustrated or depressed. There's no good games on to watch as I slide into my buzz.
So, like I said, I need a little help: anybody got a good reason to drink today? Btw, likely to pick up a little amber rum, if that would help anybody with a good motive.
FIRE AWAY!!! - Der Kaiser
It's Friday. It's the most boring part of winter. The Sabres won their last game before the break. That's all I got...

Corey Tropp
42 gp 17 points
21 gp 11 points
37 gp 42 points
kreider total 114 gp 92 pts
fasching total 101 gp 83 pts
tropp 100 gp 70 pts - homiedclown
Only argument I know for that is wasn't Tropp playing in the CCHA and Fasching in the B1G? We need a college hockey expert in here to tell us the strength of the conferences and let us know if/how much of a difference that does/doesn't make. |

No way I do 1st overall for many players that are in the league now, let alone OEL.
I like him, he is a fine player. But when you trade 1st overall for a well established player, you are (potentially) giving up a bit of salary (difference of the two players) as well as RFA years.
They would have to add another few things, if not their 1st rounder this year (which most likely will be out of top 5, so I dont do this deal). |

I posted the schedules each played the other day
80% was the same teams
there is another side to the fasching coin, just pointing that out |

OEL is the perfect fusion of karlsson and doughty
if he played for the rangers, we would be talking multi norris trophies

True, but you're also giving up the risk and the development time. If you think that this team is a few pieces away from competing and defense is one of those pieces you can argue that having a player like OEL in his prime right now is worth it.
I get that 1st pick I don't trade for OEL. I trade down to 2-5 and pick up a defensive player/prospect as well as their 1st. I pick the winger and then I have the winger that I want as well as the extra prospect/player. |

I didn't realize that. Figured they'd play within their conference a lot more.
And what do you mean another side? |

Fair, though I don't necessarily expect the 2nd half of the year to go like the first for the 'Yotes. Methinks they'll be closer to Matthews than Stanley come late March.
Especially without OEL. |

Would you trade Eichel for OEL.
Matthews has been talked about on being that kid of skill level. |

Every new toy is better than the last. It depends who you ask. If you talk to the Hockey News they say that had Matthews been 2 days older Eichel would have been chopped liver. If you ask Murray he says there's no player in the draft this year at the same level as McEichel. So it depends who you ask.
But would I trade Eichel for OEL? Maybe if I had 2 Eichels (Which, if you're saying Matthews = Eichel I basically do).
Maybe you keep Matthews and try to move Sam + for OEL |

with oel and risto, you have that d needed for a cup for the next ten years
plus with ror and eichel up front as centerpieces
skunk, girgens, kane as side pieces
bogo as a second pair d man
guhle in the pipeline
lots of goalies that could be ready in a few years
you build for the cup with 3 centers, top d pair
oel, risto, ror, eichel, skunk, gus
that follows the formula

I would rather draft Matthews and float the Skunk out there. And that is saying something because i think skunk is going to be a phenomenal player. |

The problem with that question is we're talking about Matthews once we already have Eichel, namsayin? |
