ya not a bad position to be in, I'm a big fan of Hjarmallson and he's #3 in Chicago.

Chychrun's skating has been impressive, not great decisions with the puck though.
Juolevi, Day and Bean have also looked pretty good. This is not me picking on you Vantel, but other than the penalty I haven't noticed your boy.

Edit: there he is, that is a rocket!

- neem55

chychrun was one of the worst D-man on the ice.

No Chance he goes top 5 if he keeps playing like this. Plus this year hasn't been that impressive.

We already have Edler for bad decisions and bad giveaways
- VANTEL

I thought sergacheyv and joulevi looked real good. Confident and comfortable with their styles of play. Chycrun has real good skills and size. Not sure of his hockey sense...came off like he was trying to hard, didn't seem comfortable out on the ice.

We can use Sergachev's shot. He is the highest scoring Dman in the OHL. He looked confident

I was talking about him after they pointed him out in the first intermission. I didn't know of him before the game
- VANTEL

Brown did look good, big centre man great shot. Plays to his size. Only thing I didn't like was that last face off he took at the end of the game. 6 seconds down by a goal he didn't bare down at all. Weak effort. Dubois schooled him and that was the game. Small complaint in an otherwise good game.

Your right it's not impressive when a guy goes from a minus player to a plus player when taking on more ice time and responsibility and still get roughly the same amount of points. No chance.

that's what I saw too, a guy trying to do too much. Hard to argue the skill level though,he can really skate.

Yeah, and the fact that most employers have to offer crazy salary just to get qualified people to live in that deep freeze.

Think it's called northern allowance...$25,000-$30,000 bonus per year

Yup. Not a step right into the nhl kind a guy. But a year or to in the Ahl he could still be a real stud.

Northern allowance is just a tax deduction. It's nowhere near that high. Used to give me about 3500$ extra in deductions.

In the federal gov't it's an addition bonus to your annual salary to off set the cost of living while working in the north.

Don't know anything about working for the federal government and whatever bonus that provides. But I lived up there for 11 years and I got a deduction on my taxes for living in a prescribed northern zone. Never a bonus to my wage. Just the write off

Just bought four tickets to the Canucks vs Leafs on February 13th...me and three buddies coming over for our one and only live game this year. Two knuckle heads from Ontario and two of us from the island, should be fun 🍻
- LeftCoaster

I'm taking a buddy from Toronto. He asked if he could wear his leafs jersey... I said sure, as long as it's not a Phaneuf jersey.

This is correct. You just get extra tax back for cost of living its not a bonus.

He should be around in the 20s if we deal hamhuis maybe we could grab him. If not go forward or BPA with our top 7 pick then go Dman with a late 1st from hamhuis.

Benning said yesterday that BPA is always an option depending on availability but expect him to draft a Dman...might not be BPA which is fine...fill the needs. Even if we pick top 10 do not be shocked if it's a DMAN that might not be BPA.

Hamhuis is not worth a first anymore. No GM in the league is going to give up a first for an aging injury prone vet DMAN that can't produce points anymore. That GM should be fired if that happens. We missed that boat. Time for people to accept it.

He will for sure get a first especially if a couple dmen get locked up like buff and are no longer available.

Vrbata and Hamhuis are not worth a first , but that doesn't mean there isn't a GM dumb enough to buy .

Many teams like Habs Nucks Yotes Flyers and more that have to decide whether they are buyers or sellers

If only the Penguins still had theirs. Their gm might be the dumbest in the league.

Even if the Yotes push for the playoffs I don't see them being buyers. Draft picks are too important to them.

There has been a lot of talk ( 1040 generated) about Hamhuis to Pens. The other thing also is you could trade for a 2017 first.
