That's the plan. Sign Torres and have an intra-squad scrimmage. I'm sure he'll put a few on LTIR. |

We'd be just fine without Edler here... - LordHumungous
Yes our top4 of tanev-sbisa Hammer-hutton would do wonders for the pumpkin, if this is what you mean by "fine" |

Trade him for two Bartowskis . Sorry Froggy - VANTEL
Not you too...I don't like Bartkowski either, I'd take 2 Biegas and the cap relief though |

Maybe the plan is to bring Kovalchuk with all this cap-space for one more push with the Sedins |

Sorry Froggy, but if you believe we are better off without Edler you are watching the wrong sport. Absolutely clueless |

Neither do I, I don't think we win next year no matter who we get. Might as well choke down a couple non-winning seasons and hope to land a big fish in 2016 and 2017 drafts |

I don't think we'd really realize Edler's value until he was gone. Not easy replacing all of those minutes. |

The guy is an Internet guy. He is not a hockey insider or expert. Just a blogger with a Twitter account much like Cloutier and Esplen. Maybe it's Brown to Bure or someone.
You see these Twitter accounts turning into hockey expert bloggers now. I think that girl Viewfromabroad is trying to get into it now too. |

At his age/ability, it would be a significant step back. He is going to be good for at least 4-5 more years. His contract is also a great value |

I agree. It's the guys that don't see it and think we'll find someone just as good without giving up much that I was talking about. |

I'd take him in a heartbeat. The guy played more minutes than defenseman on New Jersey lol. |

When will he start?
I am joking about Edler I have said this many times about him I would get rid of him instantly if I could find someone better.
There would be a big hole and you need to make sure someone could fill those minutes. Easier said than done |

ya fair enough, didn't know that. I liked the answers though, found them to be well reasoned and argued points.

I am a big Kovalchuk fan, he's a gamer. But we need D not a 10 mil a year forward. Were not ready for a push next year IMO, which is what you are doing sign Kovy.
I hope he comes back to the league in general though, It'd be nice if he nutted up and went back to the Devils |
