Great weekend all the way around. The Fan Fair was amazing. The Skills Competition was fantastically fun, and the game itself was one of the best All-Star events in any sport, ever. John Scott was icing on the cake, but honestly, it was a helluva weekend with or without him.
Now that Nashville has set the entertainment bar for the All-Star game, I expect LA to put on another spectacular show next year.
Some minor issue that I hope LA considers next year:
*If you have live entertainment or a DJ, don't put the Interview Theater right next to the very loud music. It was hard to hear what people were saying sometimes.
*Sit more than one person at the autograph table and give fans more access to more players. Standing in line then needing to return to wait in another line immediately after wasn't ideal.
*Have the players at a photo station where you could take pictures with them. Pictures weren't allowed at the autograph table for obvious reasons. It would have been nice to have this option.
*The QR Code scanners were terrible. Get better scanners or do away with the QR Codes. Lots of people didn't even know about the Fan Fair Pass and were downloading the QR Code in line.
*Open before 10am. The line to get in was ridiculous if you showed up after 9:15am. People had reservations to take a picture with the cup as early as 10:15am, but couldn't get in on time.
*Figure out a more efficient bag check and wanding procedure.
*Try to space out the more popular events. It was hard to pick and choose where to be several times over the weekend.
Those are my observations. It was truly a one o a kind weekend. One I'll never forget. For those who don't like country music, to each his own. There are plenty of people who do. I don't listen to country music and didn't know who some of the acts were, but I enjoyed what I heard. I may look a couple of them up now.
Good job Nashville. Good job, Paul. Good job, Preds. The All-Star game is alive again.
