I thought Dustin Brown was one of the best players on the ice for either team last night.

He's was way passed due for a game like rhat. That goal from the right circle was a shot reminiscent of the Brown we all miss.

all I'm saying is he isn't what he used to be and even as he crept away from being that, he still did "things" on the ice, but even those things are becoming less and less prevalent. He had a nice hit on Murphy, great. When was the last nice hit? He got two penalties called, great, and even better because the PP was actually working. How many times did he corkscrew himself into the ice? several, and of those plenty looked like he had initiated the contact. The man is all knees and elbows with the puck. I will never stop admiring the will, but it's the skill that is lacking.

Well, I have a feeling that is about as objective as you get on brown(certainly better than claiming that was his second good game of the year ).

I guess what always gets me is the rooting against a player on ur own team.

For example, if brown has a good game...you could be happy and maybe encouraged that he might start raising the level of his play, you could be indifferent and not encouraged at all or you could complain he scored twice because you didn't want to hear "brown-nosers" celebrate. You could also claim that his two goals were meaningless...though the absurdity of that is downright ridiculous considering that we've blown a couple games recently with two goal leads and Browns 1st goal(obviously lucky) was the one that put us up by 2(4-2)? You kinda get my point about objectivity?

Let's also be clear that no one is claiming that Brown is great or is playing great. No one likes his cap hit. No one. No one likes that he's not putting on up 25-30 goals a year like he used to. No one. There are people who insist he's terrible though and that's why this convo started. It absolutely did not start because someone claimed that he's great. We all know he falls down 375 times a game and that he's not Gretzky with the puck on his stick...but we also know his coaches and teammates absolutely revere him for what he does for the team and if he ain't scoring then he must be doing something to earn that...right?

For the record I'm calling another brown goal tonight.

Go kings.

After about a minute of possession and cycling, Clifford changes for brown who gets the puck and puts an ultra low percentage shot on net. this was the first few minutes of the third.
