No, they're trying to be better than you. That's not true defense. Their trying has no direct effect on your ability to succeed. - Scoob

I don't get it. What's to defend? The kid's a good prospect having a terrific year in the AHL. - mayorofangrytown
Anticipatory defending of stolarz. |

Having played both extensively, I have to disagree. - MBFlyerfan
So you think that swinging a bat 1/18th of the time (on average), and standing still (more or less) for about 85% of the half game in the field with short bursts of energy is more athletically demanding than traveling a few miles by foot? I'd argue that there are way more calories lost by playing golf (professional, no carts) than baseball. |

There's little mention of it but it looks like stolarz will make his first NHL start this week. Looking forward to it - Just5
I wouldn't be shocked if they swap him for Labarbera before this weekend. |

Yes, I mentioned that. That's a place where my "there must be active defense" - among other things - to be a sport breaks down. I don't consider auto racing of any kind to be a sport. |

Auto racing is most definitely a sport and while we are on the topic, I believe it requires more toughness than golf and baseball |

That would suck to do that to him imo. Why wouldn't they just recall labarbera if they had no intentions on playing him? |

I think there's a non-quantifiable amount of physical exertion that must be expended, whether in quick bursts or over a long time, that must occur for it to be a sport. The "active" or "direct"?) defense, to me, isn't required. To me. |

There has been more than one suspension for on ice conduct that exceeded 20 games. |
