so are you a local guy? or rather, you were a local guy to the Glenside area? - funmaster18
Grew up in Cheltenham. The better bars were always in Abington and Glenside. Literally had nothing in Cheltenham except parks. |

NHL scoring averages over the last few seasons...weird that 2012 is the lowest (sans this year) given that half the league didnt care to do anything for half a season.

3 2013-14 2.74

LOL okay. Are you going to let the Blackhawks know their cup doesn't count or should I? - YuenglingJagr
They have an asterisk just as the '95 Devils do. |

I don't even feel like it was worth a minor penalty, let alone a 5 minute major. - johndewar
Again, with no game context, and based on the two very short clips, I agree. |

I think, before we can proceed with this, that we must debate the definition of "anything special" as we have with "elite". - BulliesPhan87
I stand firmly with my comments. How many elite players are there in the league? To me"Elite" is an exclusive group. If Stamkos were to be put on the market today, would Voracek be enough to get Stamkos in a trade straight up (regardless if you want him or not)? I like Jake a lot but I feel he's in that second tear of star or superstar in the league. |

You didn't answer my question. When did everyone get on board to resigning him? My posts are responses to a fellow buzzer who doesn't think Schenn is anything special. - SuperSchennBros

Sorry if this has been asked, but:
How was a penalty called on Gudas after 1) there was no indication from the referee that a penalty had occurred and 2) the Flyers controlled the puck for about 10 seconds before the play was blown dead?
I don't have an issue with the penalty itself, more of the process of how the penalty was called. Had the Flyers scored a goal while they had the puck, would they have taken the goal away? |

Simmonds only has 19 and has played two more games. The Flyers don't score a lot at ES. - Feanor
I don't really view Simmons as a great ES player either. He's ok, but does his best work on the PP. Simmons is still better than Schenn on both the PP and at ES IMHO!!!!!™ |

First, they called nothing.
Then, they utterly overreacted.

Here is what I think about Schenn:
He is a good second line RW for the Flyers. Also can play well on the PP. If they resigned him after this season I would be fine with it as long as it's not something more then Couturier. I would also be fine if they moved him and got back young talent in return.
He is playing well right now and I think we found a nice complement to each other in Couturier and Schenn.
Hextall will do what's right for the team in short and long term regarding schenn. |

I was under the impression they blew the play dead due to an injury on the ice.

And not every player played their usual standard. I recall it being a strange season. It worked out for Voracek but I'm not gonna number crunch. It wasn't the usual 82 schedule where fatigue could set in and become a factor. I happen to believe a lot of players could realistically have been out of shape. |

If Tampa Bay put Stamkos on the block right now, I think they'd take Voracek for him straight up. I'm not saying Voracek is a better or worse player than Stamkos, but because Jake is locked up long term and Stamkos is looking more and more like an upcoming UFA, I think TB takes the plunge and makes the deal. |

To be fair, I'm not sure the hockey world agrees on where Stamkos weighs in at this point in his career. I was just funning you, tho. |

Unless a player is in serious danger, they cannot by rule blow the play dead until his team has the puck.
