Oh, but I thought it was Bylsma's fault Crosby only won one Cup? But scratch that, because according to you Pittsburg didn't win the Cup. Or is it everyone except Bylsma gets credit for that Cup?

2014/15 Sabres after 51 games

15-33-3
33 points
97 goals for
181 goals against

2015/16 Sabres after 51 games

21-26-4
46 points
118 goals for
138 goals against

Added note: 14/15 Sabres ended with 54 total points (15 ROW, Sabres have 19 ROW already this year)

- stashu

so last year there was an 84 goal differential

this year 20 goal differential

big strides and the already played the harder part of the schedule

This team is not far off from competing for 8th in the east

but nowhere near a blueprint for a consistent top 4 team in the east

So why would you take a goalie???

Elite scorers and Norris defenseman are the players you go after first. Not a goaltender.

Not true. He went to the playoffs six times as the Pens head coach. He went Stanley Cup, 2nd round, 1st round, 1st round, 3rd round, 2nd round. MAF was really bad in a few of those runs as well. He also won the Jack Adams in one of the years they lost in the first round(2011). Also in 2010-2011 i.e. one of the 1st round losses Crosby didn't play the entire series because of the concussion. And it's not like they got swept it went 7 games.

I don't even know why I'm defending him. I wasn't a big fan of the hire to begin with, but he's a lot better than a fairly large group on here gives him credit for. So in your line of thinking Q and Sutter aren't good because they have some of the best players playing for them even though they've won the last 4 cups combined. I really don't understand the hate for Bylsma. Is it still sour grapes because Babcock stiffed us?

My point is ever since his so called Stanley Cup he hasn't done anything since I don't care how you write it there's no excuse he had the top 2 NHL players in the game he had a top ten defenseman he had the best shutdown Center in the game at that time and he Marc Andre Fleury who is still top ten center and he had James Neal .. he is no clue how to adjust during game situations if you wash the classic Flyers vs penguins he does not adjust game plan he just does the same poop over and over again and I got him knocked out

Just stop. Seriously. You don't like him, fine. I hated Eric Lindros, doesn't mean he wasn't a great player. And Jordan Staal was absolutely not the top shutdown center in the game. He was probably the most overrated player on that team next to MAF. Only one team gets to win a Stanley Cup per year. that doesn't mean there are 31 bad coaches. Only 3 coaches have won the past 6 Cups. Byslma won 62.8% of his games that he coached for the penguins, Q is "only" at 53.8% win percentage. Darryl Sutter has won 547 of 1121 games, good for 48.7%. What a bum. Scotty Bowman is at 58.2%, Al Arbor is also 48.7%. Pat Burns, another example, one Cup had a 49.1% win percentage, made the playoffs in 11 of 14 years. Was he a bad coach? Jacques Martin coached some of the best players of the era in Yashin, Alfredsson, Hossa, Havlat, Chara, Redden, 47.4% and never even made it to the Cup finals. Now granted those guys coached a ton of games and Bylsma is by far the least with 401 with the Pens. But saying he's a bad coach, and there's no excuse because he has only "one" Cup with the 2 best players is just idiotic.

Just stop. Seriously. You don't like him, fine. I hated Eric Lindros, doesn't mean he wasn't a great player. And Jordan Staal was absolutely not the top shutdown center in the game. Jordan Staal was the top shut down Center in the game for a third line center he was probably arguably the best..
He is a terrible coach number one reason why the Penguins got rid of his ass probably every penguin fan would agree with me he changed nothing in the playoffs he didn't change his defensive game he didn't change forward lines he did nothing for the playoffs to help them win the series

Yes of course I hate that guy because I see what he has done he did the same exact poop that he does with the Pittsburgh Penguins that he did with the Olympics did not change lineups did not do anything to give the team a spark he just waved the white flag and gave up

Most likely stats backing up that Jordan Staal was the best in the game at that time

Well I suck

Was supposed to be Staals adv stats compared to Mike Richards, who finished 2nd in selke voting. The defensive numbers were almost identical. Ive lost all interest in the bylsma topic but Staal was absolutely a great 2 way centre.

You have nothing. Give it up already. I like how you conveniently don't have anything for any of the other coaches. He doesn't exist in a vacuum.

Best is a stretch, Datsyuk killed it those days. But he was definitely amongst the best.
