As much as I hated losing to L.A., some more perspective needs to be given.
Had the Hawks won Game 7, Oduya would have been out with a badly broken foot, and Hajalmarsson would have missed the first two games minimum, with a bad concussion.
I don't think they beat the Rangers without their top shutdown D pairings. - dahawks8819
Didn't remember this about Hammer in 2014... Yikes! |

Bad penalty by Shaw - no question. But the Michalek dribbles Shaw's head on the ice with his elbow so penalty on Michalek - no question. BUT what did Shaw do to deserve the second penalty? They tagged him for charging and roughing - it's one or the other but not both. - EbonyRaptor
Second penalty was BS, but once Michalek took the double dribble penalty the refs had to make sure the Yotes got a PP, hence the 2nd call on Shaw |

No that was a bad penalty. So was Danault's. Not as bad as Shaw's but you CAN'T take penalties like those 200 feet from your own net. - John Jaeckel
I agree it was a bad penalty JJ but it was nice to see a Hawk player actually make a hit. |

Rasmussen playing another nice game with 2 shots on goal, a hit, 4 out of 5 at the dot, and some good hustle, but its wasted with only 6 shifts and 3 minutes of ice time on the 4th line all because Mashinter is playing. Panik gets shoved back to the 4th line and has 5 minutes of ice time...just stupid on Q's part. Mark McNeil in his ONE NHL start looked MUCH better than Mashinter in his approximately 20 starts. STUPID! |

Hossa and Toews both were really banged up too. The Hawks showed a ton of heart in that series. The Kings were just fresher and owned the center matchup.

Haven't seen any of it aside from the terrible new NHL.com scoreboard stats...
But WTF is wrong with our special teams? 2 PPG given up? Sure the Hawks don't practice, but maybe they should practice special teams... Just sayin'. - DMChi2010
The 1st PP goal was a complete fluke. Anisimov's stick snapped on his clear attempt, surely the puck goes right to Boedker a few seconds later who scores in the lane where Anisimov's stick would have been. Very annoying. |

I like the fire and willingness, but Shaw can be Carcillo-esque sometimes. |

Just logged on and started watching the game. I'm glad I missed the BS earlier, but I am glad others are using the word "conspiracy". - powerenforcer
I used the word conspiracy but only to say I don't want to believe it. And I really don't believe there is a conspiracy against the Hawks or against any team, nor a conspiracy in favor of any team. At least not some kind of directive from the league.
But I do believe that many of the NHL officials are not very bright individuals and because they have low intelligence they think more with their emotions than with the dispassionate detachment an official should have. Hence, the refs tend to want to help out the underdog a little and call the game with their heart more than they should. And when I say "the refs" I don't meant every one of them every game. But some refs and sometimes. |

His 1st,2nd,3rd,4th and 5th job is to be a physical presence. Eli and others I'm sure you saw SEVERAL opportunities for Mashinter to finish his check legally and without going out of position. Instead, he does a poke check fly-by....WTF?!? |

AND HE WONT EVEN HIT ANYONE!!!
Edit: I thought Panik had a great 1st period and it became a special teams fest and I don't remember seeing him at all that period... |

Except for Panik, who on the bottom-6 has scored a goal recently?
Nice shifts - Desi, Danault, Rasmussen playing well, Teravainan skating better (well, not on AZs 3rd goal) - but the bottom-6 has been pretty barren for quite a while. |

Hawks 39% at the dot
What the hell is it with the high scoring games in Arizona
Sure Boedker scored the one goal but most of his game is bla zeee, defense |

I just dont understand getting a guy like Sekac(who has talent and plays a solid 200 ft game) and then not playing him. Instead using Mashinter again. Dumb.
I'd like to see Panik-Danault-TT, Desi-Rasmussen-Sekac. I think Panik can finish more scoring chances than Desi, and i think Desi will make the 4th line stronger....somehow...it makes sense in my crazy mind. |

I have no problem with an enforcer as the 12th forward, IF, that guy can keep up and actually punishes the other team. Mashinter is the worst goon I have ever seen. I'd like to see more of Sekac but I'm sure Q is just sending him a message. If Mashinter actually hit people I wouldn't hate him so much |
