He scored for the Coyotes on the PP and had a few mishandles but his speed was evident. Bowman REALLY wants him. - Dabearshawks

x2. He was invisible other than a PP shot. Did not like his D game at all. Might be a nice addition at the right price. That price DOES NOT include TT or Dano. |

AHLer +2nd is all I would pay. He has nice skills and would complement 19-81 well, but he isn't an all-world player. Very good player on a mediocre to bad team, playing against a great team.... - EnzoD
Would you do Dano/TT+prospect+1st if it meant unloading Bickell? |

And as for the strength up the middle for the Hawks, its gotta start paying off at the dot more. We've taken a step back in face offs this year and were destroyed there again tonight. This MUST improve going forward. - SimpleJack
Let's just say that there was some "creative" score keeping by the NHL officials in PHX tonight, because there's no way that AA was 8 out of 24 tonight. They also had Danault at 5 out of 10 and I had Phil at 7 out of 10.
Toews had an off night at the dot, and that doesn't happen very often. Danault and Rasmussen are both getting better and better, plus Kruger will be back for the playoff run. I don't see this as the problem that you do. |

Short of his face-offs, Anisimov had himself another great game, including in OT. He does so many things well, and is VERY strong on the puck. Twice he saved 2 on 1's during OT with his strength and savvy. Again I will say this...if I had a choice between Saad or Anisimov (based on this season), I would take Anisimov...heck of a hockey player.
As for all the goals the Hawks have had waived off this season, Stan is going to have to get a tape on the "Hossa call" tonight and set off for NY to get things straightened out. This is a startling consistency AGAINST the Hawks this season. Sometimes it helps to apply pressure in the league office because something is not right. - MexicoHawk
It won't do any good. The refs have all been told about what Lysiak did almost 40 years ago, and how Wirtz tried to fight the decision in court.
McCauley's old man made sure before he retired that his brethren would NEVER forget!!!!

once again a well worn cliche is applicable: good teams find ways to win games like and bad teams find ways to lose them...
toews 1on 1 along the boards 3 on 3 is a beast...my o my...
the nhl better go find some real nhl officials fast....across the league, game after game...blown calls, bad calls, phatom calls, awful reversals.... - bogiedoc
Replay doesn't help at all, it makes them even more tentative to make a call. Then instead of giving them full sized monitors to look at or let the call go to TOR they have to make a call off of a tiny iPad? Just stupid |

Nope. He isn't worth it. That is a JVR price. Boedker isn't nearly in the same league as JVR> |

Despite not scoring I liked what I saw from him. I talked to him after the Avs game and told him that he goes glove side A LOT on breakaways and that he should change it up a bit to keep goalies guessing. Evidently he listened because he went stick side tonight that's a VERY positive sign. - Dabearshawks
If you don't mind me asking, are you pretty good friends with him or something? I know you've been posting a lot of "behind the scenes" Panarin-related information on these boards. If so, that's pretty darn cool. |

That's his biggest weakness he's inconsistent. I've seen him play strong before and the real attraction factor (from what i'm told) is that he seems to have a 2nd gear in rhe playoffs. He demonstrated it by scoring back to back OT winners against the Hawks. |

40 years? WTF? are all the refs Sicilians? What Lysiak did has no bearing on what the refs do. Incompetence does. |

Yes, long story short for anyone wondering... I spent time in Russia last year with very good friend who lives there. I went to a TON of SKA St. Petersburg games and happened to run into Tikhonov and Panarin at a restaurant after one of the games. I've been in contact with them ever since. |

No, but they are a part of a union, and they stick together. Plus, the same bloodlines live in this league. |

If the goal is to get the calls right, all reviews should be done in TO where they have the technical resources to do it properly. The iPads are a joke. |

Yep, this is the "finished product" Corey Crawford. Q wanted him to become a "flatliner" for the Hawks, and he has done that. In the past that 4th goal might have got his mind to wandering, but not this CC...he was outstanding in OT and we get the much deserved win! - MexicoHawk
mex, thank you for the insight you add to this board. It is really nice to hear from someone who knows what they are talking about. Crow was due for a bad one and he had it, and then was great in OT. That hasn't happened in the past.
I am with you an Danault as well, kid is a beast. He has been great since coming up. I don't want to see him go anywhere. Panik good again, but since 53 ( won't say his name he doesn't belong in the nhl) that line only gets 7 minutes on the average. Why is Q in love with this guy. He is horrible
thanks again for all your insight. Between you and JJ, this is by far the best blog by a mile.
P.S. If Boedker is going to cost a roster player a prospect and a draft pick, no thank you. totally soft. Crow will tell everyone he should of had his goal tonight. Not worth the price overrated
Thanks again JJ and MexicoHawk |
