Why do you say that? - MBFlyerfan
Same reasoning as hartnell... Age and fear he might decline due to style of play. |

He's also 5 years younger than Hartnell was when he was traded...and Hartnell is still productive. |

I know, just saying that argument doesn't hold water. |

I wouldn't say he is our most all around player. He is a good player. But if I got a package of young players and picks for him I would have to seriously think about it. Montreal is desperate. If they came and offered Galchenyuk, Gallagher and 1st for Simmonds and say Laughton I would really have to think about it. - J35Bacher
Might as well throw in PK too

I am trying to think of a recent trade that is similar to what it would be like...I dunno maybe the Yandle trade would be best case scenario |

We'll have to help them out by including AMac for the cap hits to even out. |

Callahan would be a good comp, but there were extenuating circumstances in TB. Maybe Nash?

It sucks that Couturier is hurt
The forwards are really playing well right now, with him out the lines really don't work nearly as well
Simmonds when he goes on these hot streaks is one of the most fun players to watch
But he can be streaky cold too

I dont know there really isn't a known comparable in my book. Every comparable trade I can think of was rumored for a while and often had something to do with future contract obligation...I dont see any reason to move Simmonds right now and I dont really think the Flyers have thought about it |

Lucic is a pretty fair comp. UFA to be though which is kinda my point. Simmer is signed to a fantastic contract for 3 more years. Boston got a great haul for Lucic though |

They probably aren't.
He is just one of the players that probably has the most value and could be moved.
I think you could see Read possibly moved at the TDL. I wonder if they could get Pulkkinen or Tatar from the Red Wings. Pulkkinen is playing on their 4th line and he isn't really a fit for that role.
I just think the Flyers need more natural goal scoring/skill in their lineup |

Pulkkinen is meh IMO and I dont think Read gets us Tatar...I think Read has too much term left on his contract to trade at the deadline but I do think he will be traded before his contract expires. I like him a lot though
That kind of trade would be great but it is what every team is trying to make. Agreed with needing skill. It is coming! |
